A nice cafe/restaurant nearby the Technology Building MRT area. Though a very modern looking place, it’s quite welcoming and cozy, which if you know me is a big bonus. My coworkers and I decided to do a mini lunch together and we all got the avocado toast, as per their recommendation. I opted for the bacon option since I’m not a big fan of cheese. The toast was quite tasty and the creaminess of the avocado made every bite enjoyable. I wished I knew it was sprinkled with a bit of cheese (since I would have told them not to do that). I didn’t notice it on my first toast so I mixed everything together - thankfully the avocado did its job to disguise the cheesy taste (I took the cheese off after on my second toast tho).
Overall, I enjoyed it and I would recommend it to others. The only thing is they take a while to make your order, esp the drinks so I would give myself more time - if you have limited time for lunch. Thankfully I wasn’t in a total rush and I got to enjoy my strawberry black tea (another recommendation!). You can tell that the drinks are crafted carefully and with care, which I...
Read moreThe air conditioning is slightly too intense, so definitely not a good idea to get an icy option here. The seats arranged around the center pillar is a, I would say, riveting, approach to interior design, although posing as a nuisance when you have to share a single table with other 9 patrons and you might even sit besides the pillar, which is relatively narrow and motion-restricting. The food is about okay, but they do have some plating-pandemonium going on, the salad, which is put on the same platter as my bread, had its dressing travel across the plate and soaking my bread, an uncalled for but totally predictable outcome, what do you expect when you position bread and salad on the exact same surface? Price is a tad bit too expensive, and they do have a minimum consumption of a drink(meaning ordering a meal still won't fulfill the requirement, you have to get a drink). The bathroom was tidy, apparently...
Read moreExcellent cappuccino! Price at the high end ($120 for a 6 oz cup of the essential) and food is rather expensive, too. I think they figure the clientele are going to order a coffee and maybe a light snack and then sit there on their Macbook Air for hours. Typical hipster/college café atmosphere with nobody over 30 (except me, by a wide margin), a concrete floor, retro decorations and a movie being continually projected on the back wall. Service suitably nonchalant - the wait staff has that serious look that says, "What I'm doing is very, very important, so don't expect me to smile and make conversation." Delicious...
