Yóu Sushi — Restaurant in Da'an District

We got a bad chef. The chef that serves us omakase seems to dislike us the minute we walked in. The chef ask if we don’t eat any type of fish so we say we are good with any. But we would like more of aburi style. He says ok and starts serving us. We were anticipated to get nice aburi sushi, but at the 5th dishes, he still serves us very plain sashimi. Not what we expected as already the dishes we had for 2 people cost us $680 ntd. My friend got upset so we told the chef to stop serving us and to close up on the bills. We told him that it seems like he is serving us something that we didn’t expect to the quality. I saw great review on this restaurant and expected something good. We should of went for the lunch set instead of omakase. The lunch set is a lot cheaper and looks more delicious. Each time they serve the lunch set to other table we were craving for the same quality on our omakase; but yet we didn’t get that type of quality. The chef ignored us all the way ever since we sat down. He only talked to the people next to us left and right. As you can see from the images taken, these are only the dishes he served us from the beginning to our 5th dish. The last dish was only dried seaweed wrapped burdock root. I got upset so didn’t even bother to take the last photo. I guess if you like to try this restaurant just get their lunch set. Delicious sushi with delicate flavoring and excellent knife skills applied that heightens each fish's unique taste and texture. You can order what you want from today's menu of fish selection or just let go of the steering wheel and let the chef direct the spectacle. I did the latter and was blown away with the ride. Since it was my first time here and I have a great appetite I basically said yes to everything that was suggested which amounted to an awesome dinner. I spent in total 2400nt per person which was more than fair for what I had but for my next visit might tone it down a notch and skip some of the courses just to maintain budget :p overall great food. You sushi is so good I didn’t want to make a review about it because I was scared it’d become ruined once it becomes too popular but the food and the entire experience was too incredible to not share. Every single detail from the moment you walk in is so meticulously detailed, from the level of service to each and every ingredient added to each dish. Words cannot describe the experience and the food was out of the world. Seafood is fresh caught day of and each piece of sushi was handcrafted with care and detail. The flavors of each sushi were well combined and thought out. The sushi here was better than any of the sushi I’ve had before and I’ve been to Japan, though there are places in Japan better but far higher priced. Insane value for what you get but you definitely need a reservation in advance. Highly recommend getting a lunch set to try first and the rice bowl (which far surpassed my expectations).
