Awesome find a little off the main street. Street parking was easy and they said there's a parking lot somewhere too. I called at 4:45pm for a 5:20pm reservation for 2 adults and 1 child. They only keep your reservation for 10 minutes. By the time we were done at 6pm the restaurant was full. Reservations recommended no matter how late! Might as well ask right? Cash only. Menu is written on the blackboard with the started items as recommended. Everything we got was superb. We had some local fish (according to the waiter the he pointed some direction and said the fish came from that port) which was pan fried to perfection. We got a little one so it was 300NT but it was very meaty and flavorful. We also got the recommended salted egg tofu that was very good and goes very well with a lot of rice. Actually all their dishes go really well with beer and rice. I got some mushy sea vegetable stirred fried with eggs, it kind of tasted like seaweed which was surprisingly good. We also thought we ordered the razor clam but it was regular clams stir fried with basil and garlic. The flavors were amazing for all the dishes. We ordered four large dishes but we managed to eat it all and not feel over full for some reason. They just moved in 2021 (around february) so there are no more cute animals (cats, prairie dogs etc) only mosquitos left. Can't go wrong with any dish. Yum! Oh, drinks (see photo) only come in family sized. And I didn't get any free soup like the other...
Read moreA tucked away slice of superbly delicious Taiwanese cuisine. When you drive by the restaurant there’s a sign and the door to the left. The inside is simple, understated chairs and tables atop natural gravel flooring. Large industrial fans blow to keep the air moving inside. I didn't expect much.
When we ordered we just asked for the most popular items and looked at previous photos, pointed to them, and ordered in that fashion.
Then the food came. And the dishes came out fast. Drinks are in a refrigerator near the register.
The razor beak clams, tofu, and veggie with sesame sauce were all superb. It was amazing. I also really liked the bitter melon and salted egg dish but I know it’s not for everyone. The fried cuttlefish was also really fresh and had the perfect bite (口感). Oyster omelette was fine and the oysters were fresh. We ordered three portions of rice for 5. It was more than enough for us. Lunch...
Read moreLook at the beautiful colors of the dishes! Here for the salted egg tofu but ended up ordering way more. Luscious golden egg yolk slathered on huge bites of tofu, heavenly! Not to outshine their other dishes though, each plate was an enormous serving amount, their vegetables (water spinach 控青菜 and bitter fern) were crunchy and delicious, and the chicken with fermented chili soup was soul warming.
Come here hungry and bring friends so you can order as much as possible!
The restaurant is tucked away in an understated location, behind some metal containers - you might just miss the shop. However walking in you're greeted by a garden with tables placed around the open space. There's pet cats, birds, prairie dogs(!) and even a...
