After a few days of night Market and local cuisine, my friends and I were craving some Western flavors, so we hopped into this Italian restaurant to take a look. The menu is very standard Italian fare, with most of what you can usually find on an Italian restaurant menu in Taiwan, with the addition of a Mexican food section. We got a salad, the calamari and some dishes, namely risotto, spaghetti, a sandwich and tacos. The food was satisfactory, although the calamari was quite tough (indicating that it's freshness was questionable) and the prices for individual dishes were quite high. While the high prices could be attributed to it being located in the Kenting area, I do feel spending over 3,000NT for a party of five was not great. I do feel that a few dishes were slightly under seasoned, but this is up to personal preference as one of my other friends found his dish quite well seasoned. To conclude, I was not dissatisfied with this restaurant, nor was I impressed, but I do...
Read moreWe were in the mood for pizza and decided to try Amy’s Cucina in Kenting on a whim. The drinks menu is quite extensive, offering a variety of cocktails, juices, and beers. However, the wine selection is quite limited—just Chardonnay for white wine and Cabernet Sauvignon for red. Maybe guests don’t drink much wine with their Italian meals here!
The food menu is basic but priced on the higher side. You’ll find typical Italian dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese, Carbonara, and Pizza, along with options like Risotto and some vegetarian choices. Amusingly, they also serve Mexican food, like burritos and quesadillas—perhaps to win over the last few undecided tourists.
We had pizza and risotto. Both were good, but nothing particularly special. Drinks were yummy though.
The service and ambiance are simple, so don’t expect too much. Overall, we’d give it 3 to 3.5 stars, as the price didn’t quite match...
Read moreWe went twice during our stay in Kenting. The first visit, we ordered mushroom risotto, a veggie quesadilla, veggie pizza, and spaghetti carbonara. They brought out mushroom cream pasta, pesto pizza, veggie quesadilla, and the carbonara. All were good. The kids especially loved the carbonara and wanted to return to eat more of it. On our second visit, we ordered a veggie burrito, pumpkin risotto, and the carbonara. This time, they got everything correct and we enjoyed our meal. Both nights we chose to sit outside as we felt like we were in the night market and it was great for people watching. The prices were fine for the...
