Xiao Chui Vietnamese cuisine AJia Geng Tao — Restaurant in Hengchun

Can't understand the high rating here. 4.4* is absolutely inexplicable. I was 5 times in Vietnam. And the Banh Mi here was a disaster. With pineapple and the chicken with the cooked skin on it. No Pate at all. No cucumber and reddish at last topping. Papaya salad with nice shrinks combined with bad pork meet. Never had this combination. The broth of the Pho was ok but all in all the soup was average. We paid 750TWD for 2 Pho Bo, 1 papaya salad and 1 Banh Mi Ga. Absolutely overpriced. Not worth half of that price.

Updated August 25 3021. I think the semi lockdown and the recent heavy rains have negatively this restaurant. Recent rains have caused produce prices to rise so the meal prices at the restaurant have increased while the veggies served have decreased in volume. The service is a bit slower and less friendly and less helpful now.

Hopefully this will turn around in the next couple of months. Until then be cautious about going to eat here.

It’s one of my favorite diner in town. The Vietnamese dishes are authentic and hit the spot! All the plates came in huge size so it’s better to come with larger groups. The moon shrimp cake is the house signature dish, and it’s also the fattest one we’ve ever seen. With such a size of each cake, we highly suggest not to order too much dishes while you got one of this plate. Nevertheless, the sour plum soup is a failure.
