La Miette — Restaurant in Hsinchu

We arrived at around 12:30, we had a reservation already so we were seated quite quickly. The orders were taken and the bottled drinks came quite quickly, however, the waitress broke one of the bottles by accident. That was fine, I felt bad for her because she looked so scared and I went to say to her that it's all fine and not to worry.

It took a long time for our food to come on, and they gave us the wrong order for one of our starters. When we asked to see what we ordered, a girl came and told us that they couldn't find paper that they wrote on. She then came back and said that she found it in the bin.

Another waitress came and gave us our order, but immediately after, it was taken away and swapped for another one because "that was for another table, sorry".

The food was mediocre, the noodles that we had weren't cooked enough. So they gave us a replacement. The flavours were similar. It was like having a whole meal just of the same thing but with slightly different flavours.

Some drinks, including mine, didn't come until we all nearly finished our main course. And some meals didn't come until some of us nearly finished ours. My drink (black tea) was just mediocre as well. It's nothing special for the amount of time that I waited for it.

The desert was okay as well - a plain sponge cake with a bit of chocolate/cream and panacotta with strawberry sauce/fruit. Nothing special for the price.

We had a good time because of the people that we went with, but it really should have been MUCH better for the price that we paid. We still got charged the service fees as well as far as I know. But they gave us some Madeleines for free I guess?

They came and explained that there were 20 people in front of us so that's why things were so bad. But still, it's...

Not only the grilled pork salad but the prawn omelette tasted great! Nevertheless, although it was nice of the server to compensate each of us with a bowl of soup after dropping a prawn from our omelette, we'd still hope to get another prawn so that all of us could taste the full flavor...

Had sandwich. French bread was not the best, but better than most places. All the rest was good too.

Service a bit slow, but place was packed.

Had soda with jam, was surprisingly nice to drink.

The fruit and cream croissant for dessert is really nice.
