儷舍咖啡 — Restaurant in Hsinchu

Look at the pics others have posted. It’s basic fare. Nothing to praise. But in its timeless austerity and simplicity, it’s perfect. Cozy atmosphere. Billie Holiday on the radio. The decor is shabby chic and the walls are adorned with fake antiques. It’s perfectly Taiwan with a nod to England and America. I am a gringo. An, a dou ah. I found comfort here. Old people come here to have milk, toast, and coffee and gossip about their neighborly affairs. Young people come here to talk about their boyfriends and girlfriends. 和小寶去儷舍咖啡用早餐，是交往一個月第一次兩個人單獨出門吃飯約會。

老派咖啡店的老派早餐。那是我最近好喜歡的咖啡店，一走進去彷彿穿梭回三十年前，裏頭坐滿阿公阿嬤，擺設和菜單也是那個年代的風格。

我們點了總匯三明治、蛋蜜汁、酥皮濃湯、木瓜牛奶、焗烤咖哩牛肉飯。

我們沒有滑手機，看著對方談一些老派的話。

上餐前小寶問我，我覺得什麼是嚴重的吵架？因為前一天晚上我們吵了個小小的無傷大雅的架。

我回答，在吵架的時候調頭就走或是人身攻擊對方、或是明明知道會傷害對方卻還是說。

我後來跟小寶說，感覺他在感情裡沒有遭遇什麼太嚴重的創傷，而我希望他以後也能夠繼續幸福下去，然後摸摸他的頭髮。

小寶說，但他希望我們兩個人可以一起幸福。

三明治的吐司烤過，酥酥的，送上來時是溫熱的，吐司邊去掉。美乃滋跟早餐店美乃滋不同，酸酸的很清爽，感覺有特別調味過。裡頭的半熟蛋煎得剛剛好，蛋汁不會流出來沾到手。

酥皮濃湯的玉米濃湯不是一般平價牛排館或夜市喝到的有香精味又過度勾芡的那種，是用心煮的玉米濃湯，我記得還吃到香菇。

木瓜牛奶也是濃稠好喝的，喝起來沒有套水偷工減料。

這是我人生中第二次喝蛋蜜汁，我不喜歡蛋，第一次抱著害怕的心情喝，不難喝，但也沒有讓人想一喝再喝；昨天小寶點了我就喝了，好好喝，喝起來有柳橙汁和檸檬的感覺，我不知道原來蛋蜜汁這麼好喝。

我經常希望別人可以幸福，但我似乎沒有用...
