Boom Burger — Restaurant in Hualien City

Craving a juicy burger? Look no further. Delightfully surprised that this area of Taiwan was home to tasty burgers.

Open at 4:30PM, we came hungry and left feeling stuffed in the best way. Burgers come with a side of super crispy, seasoned fries - still soft in the middle. And either Iced Green or Iced Black tea. Refills are $10. Free water provided as soon as you sit down.

You can customize the meat in your burgers - get classic beef, or pork or chicken. Matt got the Beef Burger Boom that came loaded with a fried egg and bacon. I ordered their Nahala Burger with a chicken patty, came with sprouts, melted cheddar, onion and tomato. Each bite was heavenly. Juice dripped thick and the bun was delicious. They toast their buns at the top so if you don’t like that, just let them know.

We also ordered their mozzarella sticks - also wonderful. Seasoned and served with a light mayo dipping sauce that complimented each bite.

Burgers are priced from 190NT - 220NT, our order came out to 460NT, really not too bad considering that would be the total cost for 1 gourmet burger in the USA.

Pay with cash is best.

Beer served here for 75NT. They also have a variety of sweetened iced beverages like plum and orange for 80NT.

I liked this place. The service was quick and smooth, however I was the only guest at that time. There are plenty of seats, it is around 24-28, if I remember correctly. I was immediately served with a huge bottle of crisp cold water. I tried the boom burger, the onion rings and the berry juice. The berry juice was very rich, with at least 3 different berries. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious. The sauce that came with them was very good. The burger comes with fries and ketchup. Fries were great. Crispy on the outside and not greasy at all. The burger was delicious. The buns were amazing. I think they make it in house. If it is the case, they are one of the best buns I ever tried. The meat was also good, however it was well done. Maybe because of its thickness or something. The other fillings in the burger were well balanced, the egg was perfectly cooked and its yolk was still soft. You want a great Burger? This is the place to go. Always satifying.

If you are a Westerner like me, and you feel that need for a REAL delux burger and chips that forces you to open the top button of your jeans, this is the only place to go in Hualien. My wife nearly always ask me to help her finish her chips and burger! She loves it, but cannot finish! Perhaps that's why I see a lot of Westerners go here. They have Australian beef. They also offer beer. I usually have a Corona. Lately I have been hooked on the mushroom burger.
