鹽埕町氷菓室丨日式刨冰、冰淇淋 — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

I rarely write reviews, but the understated friendliness of the ice shop owner compels me to write one.

This ice shop is around 8 minutes by foot from Wenwu Temple on the tramline. It’s in a relatively quiet and quaint neighbourhood of Yancheng District of Kaohsiung.

Upon entering the Japanese style doors, the handsome shop owner will introduce the available items of the day (not all items are available every day).

I ordered the matcha tea shaved ice, which came in the form of a beautiful dome of green luscious ice.

The sweetness of the condensed milk like snowcap on top is just right as it invites your tastebud to the journey of flavours and textures. As you literally dig through the mountain of ice, you get the crunchiness of the cookie, the thickness of the red bean paste, the smoothness of the matcha ice cream, and savoury bursts of roasted nuts.

I was treated to a small cube of matcha chocolate and a scoop of hojicha ice cream (very nice), all made by the owner himself. He gave me a glass of warm water at the end to defrost my tongue.

芒果抹茶刨冰很必點，上頭有馬茲卡邦起司，還有抹茶淋醬和芒果淋醬，刨冰裡面還藏濃厚的小山園抹茶加上香氣十足愛文芒果還有堅果，一口就讓人驚艷，整個層次感十足，每一口都充滿驚喜，好吃的日式刨冰，推薦給你們，趕快收藏起來吧😊😊
