天使雞排-瑞豐店 — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

We bought not knowing anything about this chicken stall except that it was right beside the milktea shop we were queuing at, and it was empty at that time (I know, we were very lucky considering the crazy line that followed us soon after) so we decided to give it a try and had zero expectations at all. Imagine our surprise when we finally got to taste it and it was mindblowingly delicious! It was huge and thick, but the meat was tender and juicy all the way and the batter was thin and a bit crispy. You can taste the seasoning subtly, not too overwhelming but just enough to leave you wanting more of the already huge cut. We only realized how popular it was when by the time we got our orders, the line extended up to the next block, which according to reviews was normal.... Would have loved to try it again but that was our last night in Kaohsiung.

tldr; among other chicken cuts we've tried in Taiwan, this was the best. Definitely a must try if you're in...

So this store seems to be very hyped up, because the owner gives a 5$ discount if a five star review is shown while ordering. So I recommend using it but adjusting the rating afterwards. On my opinion it's not a five star chicken. It is much bigger/thicker than most others but the taste is just very basic. The spices aren't special and no other special flavor is added. It's juicy but it's not worth the hype. The price is fine (70/75$).

I definitely don't recommend waiting (on weekends) in a super long line for this. Try it on a weekday with no wait or skip it. You don't miss out on...

Came specially for Angel chicken chop since the only branch in Taipei closed (prolly during covid) TT. Queue was alright for a sat (Ard 20-30 mins wait) Was very excited initially but we were quickly disappointed ☹️ The chicken was drier and much less juicer than the last we ate in Taipei. Apart from the price increase, I think the size shrunk too.. such a pity as this was our No.1 🥲 Overall still nicer compared to usual chicken chops but prolly will not spend the effort to specially go find and eat alr. On a side note, their mushrooms was quite nice though...
