This restaurant has a good reputation because Mr. Tsai, the chef of Posto Pizza Napoletana, Ms. Lee, the store manager of BANCO Pizza and Mr.Zheng, the CEO of Gino Pizza, formed Team Taiwan and won the 2019 Campionato mondiale del Pizzaiuolo championship. Additionally, Mr. Tsai was the first Taiwanese chef accredited by APN (Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani) and AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana). They offer both dine-in and outdoor dining areas. If you sit in the dine-in area you can watch the pizza-making process while eating. Most importantly, don’t forget to book a seat in advance; otherwise, you may need to wait in a long line when you arrive there.
Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza ★★★★ Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza is my favorite, but this one was too salty. I think it was due to the Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the top of the pizza, and the crust was a little bit thick. However, this pizza was still delicious and worth the price, as the pizza has plenty of toppings. In addition, the pizza was 9 inches in size, so I recommend sharing it with others.
Roasted Sausage ★★★★ Their sausages were purchased from Bassotto, a food company established by Mr. Tsai, who was also the chef of Posto Pizza Napoletana. Although the sausageswere made with Taiwanese pork, the taste was very different from that of the traditional Taiwanese sausage.
Cannoli ★★★ Cannoli is a traditional dessert that originated in Sicily, Italy. The shape of this was made with dough that was rolled into a pipe and fried until crispy. The cream was squeezed into the pipe and the pistachios were sprinkled on both sides. Although it looked great, but I found it too sweet, so I don’t think I will order it again. But, if you want to try something new, don’t miss it.
Citron Lemon Tea ★★★ It's a standard drink so there's not much to say about this one. It is a little bit sour, but other than that it's not bad. I couldn't taste the...
Read moreThis pizzeria was packed when I drove by it while looking for a parking spot. After a few minutes I found a nearby parking spot. Upon entering the pizzeria I was greeted by the most confusing and unproductive conversation. They were full and I said I wanted to dine in. The staff suggested that we do a take out but that wasn’t an option. Then the staff unwillingly told us that we can be on the waiting list with seven queues ahead of us and that only if they call we are guaranteed a seat. I insisted being on the list even though I wasn’t happy with the service already. A friend and I went to a nearby Thai boat noodle place for the first round hoping that by the time we finished our table would be available. Right after we ordered our noodles the phone rang and they informed us that our table was ready. I was quite baffled since the staff seemed pretty sure that we weren’t able to dine in at all last night. We went back and ordered two pizzas. The pizzas were actually quite good. They used quality ingredients and both of us were quite happy with our food. By the time we were finishing our second pizza the whole restaurant was empty already. I don’t know if that’s the service that people are accustomed to in Kaohsiung but I do expect a bit more. Don’t ruin the experience since the food is actually good. Drop the attitude and polish up the restaurant a bit and I’d fully recommend this place to anyone...
Read moreA small restaurant serves good pizza with reasonable price. I've had experience in both to-go and sit-in there. The place is cramped with small tables hardly left with much walking room. If you like the feeling of a crowed eatery, this is it. BUT there is room to improve their sanitary standards. The silverware is stored in drawers for customers' self service, but I found silverware was dirty dotted with stains. The tea or bear glasses were the worst, found very filthy covered by a layer of grease that I had to use pieces of tissue to rub off browned matters around the glass lips, and pretended not seeing the inner of the glasses. Then I decided to order beverage come in a can. I suspect the glasses were only rinsed in water without sponged them with dish washing agent. We are still in the global pandemic crisis, none of the servers and pizza makers were wearing face masks. That's not...
