哲屋義大利餐廳 La Filosofia Italian Restaurant & Cigar bar — Restaurant in Luodong

We are family of tourists in the city and decided on this restaurant from Google reviews and distance to our hotel. Dinner was to celebrate my Son’s birthday as he wanted to have some pasta. We turned up abt 30mins late (7.30pm instead of 7pm) my wife was chided by the older lady for being late (in an empty restaurant) explaining they had some event coming up soon (which was still empty by the time we left) when I asked so if we could still eat here an older man (who was not part of the convo) just grumbled ‘then just sit’. My kids then ran across the dining area that had risen floor boards and was again chided by the older lady saying they will damage the floor. This was our introduction to the restaurant.

We went on to order the pastas but they all tasted like they were cooked in a hurry and non of the pastas were tasty. As we were quite hungry some of us managed to eat about half but generally most of the pastas were only partially eaten. Maybe because we are fussy as well. We ordered 2 pizzas and they tasted ok.

For beer drinkers they only serve hoegarden in an Italian restaurant.

Older lady provided a different service filling up the water diligently during the meal but damage was already done to Dad and Wife who were quite surprised about the response and dining mood was gone.

The service stars in my opinion were for a younger chap (probably the son of the owner) and he showed part of the considerate service we once...

WARNING PEOPLE, terrible service alert!!

5 days prior, we made some takeout reservations with the restaurant and reconfirmed the order with them one day after. On the designated day, we arrived and showed up at the restaurant found out they’ve prepared absolutely nothing simply because “they forgot” about the order. Let alone to say that we drove 40 mins from 礁溪 to 羅東 to pick up the food for a family gathering dinner; they didn’t even apologise. What were to do with our rendezvous on the so very last minute?

I don’t think we will visit the place again. And will not recommend it to anyone.

Is this what the proprietor called professionalism? Absolutely...

Wonderful Italian food…. A great place and nice Italian ambiance and music. Our family came back again for dinner for the awesome food!! Delicious escargots, margarita pizzas, spaghetti, steaks with nice wines. Not forgetting little...
