This place has hands down the best butter chicken in the Neihu area!
Overall the environment is well lid, spacious, and clean, so no complaints on my end on this.
Service is also fast, snappy and corteous enough, albeit I was the only person in the place so that probably helped.
Now for the food, as mentioned above, the Butter Chicken is really good, it was my favorite dish of the night. It was a generous bowl of creamy, rich, buttery goodness. The chicken itself was really good and juicy.
Besides the Butter Chicken I had butter and garlic Naan, Malai Tikka and a hot masala tea.
It was my first time trying Malai Tikka, and although not the most mind-blowing dish I have ever had it is solid and honestly feels quite healthy. I think it would work well as an entree to share with others since the portion is insanely big. The chicken of this dish is moist, juicy and tastes honestly good. However the flavor profile is a little bit boring and grows old quickly, especially when you are eating the huge portion by yourself, plus the green sauce it comes with doesn't really help since it actually overpowers the taste of the chicken.
The Naan, unfortunately, were far from the best I have tried. I really love Naan and love them more when they are soft and chewy. The texture on the Naan I had here was inconsistent; some parts were soft, some were crispy like a chip, and some even burned. Thankfully soaking them in the Butter Chicken did the trick and they served their purpose.
Finally the Masala was good, milky, not too spicy, not too sweet.
Despite the Naan issue I am still giving this place 5 stars because the value is quite high with good quality to price and portion to price ratio, plus the Butter Chicken is quite good which tells me it is very likely other items on the menu...
Read moreThe food and service were both mediocre. I was very excited to try this place because most restaurants don’t do Indian street food and I had been craving my favorites. We ordered the pav bhaji, wada pav, raj kachori, ragada pattice and papdi chaat from the street food menu. The “pav” was a dinner roll instead of the real pav. Ok fair enough, it’s Taiwan, maybe they couldn’t find pav. But the bhaji of the pav bhaji didn’t taste right at all. The ragada pattice was ok...but came served with a dollop of yogurt on top and the peas were undercooked and not mushy like they should have been. The wada pav was probably the best of the lot but only in comparison to how disappointing everything else was. We sent the paapdi chaat back since it wasn’t even made with paapdi! Apart from the street food menu, we also ordered the malai kofta and butter paneer with naan. The curries were ok, but the gravy of both the curries tasted the same. The service was awful. We ordered the gajar halwa and were told that they would check with the kitchen and let us know if they had it but they never came back to update us on the availability. We waited for ages after the meal, expecting them to bring it to us and when we asked about it, we were told it wasn’t available. The same thing happened with the paapdi chaat, when asked why it wasn’t made with paapdi. The place is really far away in neihu and absolutely not worth the journey up...
Read moreLocation: It's a new restaurant in the Neihu area. Situated at walking distance from Neihu MRT,
Ambience: the place has peaceful-spacious ambience, with no loud music and unnecessary complicated decoration. The owner is an enthusiastic food lover and a wildlife photographer. He will flaunt his pics sooner on the wall as decor 🌿
Palate: The food was great especially the papdi chat which was served as complement. Note: Don't expect the food to be as spicy and exact like one in India because they play around with the taste to cater to the palate of their major customers, i.e Taiwanese.
Quality: But one thing I can say for sure, the ingredients in the food were very good. Usually, I feel grumpiness in stomach after eating outside but with the food there my stomach was happy and...
