We booked a room for an important gathering. The reason for the restaurant was picked is for the good review. However, it’s quite a disappointed experience for such a pricy dinner : The side dishes are just ok, only side dish that is meeting the expectation is the pumpkin salad which is mixed with smashed sweet potato and potato. Good flavor! The meat is cooked and served at once and it gets cold which I think they can re-consider the operation flow to make the food be served with a better way and keep the temperature warm. They forgot to serve the wrapping leaves (vegetable ) when serving the meat. They totally forgot this important ingredient until we almost finished the bbq and we felt so strange and asked. They need to improve SOP to prevent such mistake as this is very basic ! The middle age of Korean waitress is attentive and friendly; however, there is young waitress who is rather unprofessional: she refused to help us claim/ exchange the soft drinks that’s included in the set menu we ordered only because she claimed that she is not in charge of our table. She also shout out loudly the total bill amount to all which creates embarrassing situation for our table to pay as we actually have someone who is paying for the dinner and he doesn’t want the guests know the dinner expenses as it’s not cheap.. that’s why we also arrived earlier to make all orders to prevent any pressure to guests. This is very basic service common sense and the waitress is just so unprofessional and not well- trained. The set menu has a lot of rule when we tried to swap out some items . Recommendation is to make some flexible rule which will make better customer experiences. We have only 10 ppl but we ordered up to 12 ppl set. I think with the price range of the restaurant, they could seek a better service on menu choices.
However , manager has good attitude just that the service is not flexible. Personally thinking a more flexible customer services makes more positive impression and brings back...
Read moreAs an American tourist with a deep appreciation for exceptional cuisine, I can confidently say that Samwon Garden Taipei is an absolute gem and hands-down the best Korean restaurant I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you step into the elegant, modern interior, you’re transported straight to the heart of Seoul an upscale twist.
The service is impeccable—attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Every recommendation they made was spot-on. The banchan (side dishes) were an artful symphony of flavors, each perfectly crafted and replenished without hesitation.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the food. The galbi (grilled short ribs) was nothing short of divine—marinated to perfection, tender, and grilled by expert staff who ensured every bite was flawless. The haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) was golden, crispy, and bursting with fresh seafood. But what truly left me speechless was the Soon Doobu (spicy tofu stew)—comforting, flavorful, and an absolute must-try if you want to experience authentic Korean soul food.
Even the beverages were curated with care, including an impressive selection of Korean wine, tea, and soju that paired beautifully with the meal.
Samwon Garden isn’t just a meal; it’s an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Korean cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant will set the bar impossibly high. If you're ever in Taipei, make this a priority—you’ll leave as blown...
Read moreIf you guys want to go to this restaurant, you'd better make a reservation. (My hubby and I headed to the restaurant without making a reservation, then we had to go back home sadly) Second time, I made a reservation at noon because the restaurant will be closed at 230pm. We had a course meal C for four people. Including 3 bottles of cokes and fees, I needed to pay over 8 thousands. We loved to have charcoal grilled seasoned beef short ribs. so yummy. You should try that this. If you bring even foreigners, they would definitely love to eat. One of staffs was really kind and patiently helped us. however the others were so busy and not smiling. (maybe not happy to work at the...
