Curry Prince — Restaurant in New Taipei

Intrigued by the positive reviews, we decided to try this restaurant located in the bustling Lehua Night Market. Our meal selection included the shrimp fried rice and the restaurant’s highly recommended signature dish, the French-style Blue-Ribbon Crumbed Pork Chop Curry Rice.

Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype. When the shrimp fried rice was served, my initial reaction could be summed up in one word: disappointing. Both the portion size and presentation fell far short of expectations, particularly given the price point.

Regrettably, the French-style Blue-Ribbon Crumbed Pork Chop Curry Rice was also underwhelming. Despite its enticing description of a deep-fried pork chop wrapped with cheese and ham, the reality was far from impressive. The pork chop itself was extremely thin, which diminished the overall enjoyment of the dish. Additionally, the presentation lacked appeal, making it difficult to justify its status as the restaurant’s number-one-rated item.

I have ordered from here using Food Panda several times, mainly because they are open late. The food isn't as bad as a lot of these reviews are making it out to be, but it is just middle class for sure. The curry is pretty good and the meat is always hot and crispy. You can see them cook and prepare your food. If you're casual about sanitary conditions as is usual in night markets, I suppose you will like the food here.
