Elisa Cafe Yehliu — Restaurant in New Taipei

We were very excited to visit this coffee shop and it somehow got high reviews (4 stars) but it wasn't a very pleasant experience.

The pros: It's spacious and good for big groups. The view is great!

The cons: We had a group of 5 people, one of them had dietary restrictions so he cannot have caffeinated / sugary drinks. Anyhow, the store enforces a minimum charge so we thought ordering a dessert/food (which is more expensive than a drink) would suffice but the staff rather go by the book and forced us to order a drink that we can't even drink than to provide good customer service. What difference does it make if a customer chooses to order food instead of a drink when in the end we are still meeting the minimum order requirements? In the end, my friend was forced to order a drink that he can't even drink. We also ordered the cinnamon bun and it tasted horrible! The coffee was pretty bland. The staff weren't very friendly. Elisa cafe has been my favorite place in Yehliu. My friends and I went to eat dinner there every night we have been in the town. The atmosphere is so relaxing on the second floor and has a stunning view of the ocean. The food does take awhile for them to prepare but it's entirely worth it! The pizza comes with A LOT of onions on it but you can order it without. I had the apple cake with their ice cream for dessert. It was phenomenal!!! All of my friends and I had different dishes for our entree and desserts. Everyone loved their food. The service was amazing. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Elisa cafe is an all around outstanding experience. They do have indoor outdoor cats that they take care of. They are very friendly. Usually only one of the cats is inside at a time. One of the cats sat in my friends lap while we were eating and took a nap. But to those who are afraid of cats or are allergic, just be aware. This place was a 20 out of 10 for me! Came here after had a heartily seafood lunch at next door restaurant. Ordered Americano Coffee and several chilled drinks. Mom finished her cheesecake in a record speed at her 94-year-old league. Quite an industry loft style throughout and adornments and trinkets are placed all around indicating boss is very serious about his/her coffee shop. Restrooms are situated at each floor, ground floor is the Oriental style where you need a pair of strong knees, while western sitting toilet is installed at the 2nd floor.
