Wang Hai Ting Live Seafood — Restaurant in New Taipei

Lady boss insisted that her restaurant does not use msg in their cooking. Unfortunately, it was a lie as hubby was allergic to msg.

She recommended us steam parrot fish and crab plus another shell fish item. We were quoted NT3300 for a fish and NT2180 for 2 small crab. For the same size, quantity and type of crab we had in Kaohsiung, we only paid NT1000. We were really shocked and declined the order. That's when she insisted that she quoted us based on local Taiwanese rate not tourist rate.

I will rate this 0 star if I could. I'm absolutely furious about my recent experience at this restaurant. It's beyond upsetting that they choose to serve sharks, which is not just morally wrong but also terrible for the environment. And don't get me started on the live sharks in aquariums – it's just plain cruel and should be against the law. This place seems more interested in making a quick $$$ than doing what's right. Not recommended! It's totally an overrated restaurant! The food is just okay but quite expensive compared to others. Apart from that, the boss is not kind. Instead, she's a bit aggressive and asked us to change our dish to another one which is not what we ordered. What's even worse is that she changed the kind of the clams in the clam soup into the ones that taste insipid. She even claimed that this kind of clams is more expensive than the one we wanted.
