Greenery Cube Café — Restaurant in New Taipei

After hiking up to Yinghe waterfall cave, we went back forth to the trailhead and walked 8min to this super scenic and popular restaurant nestled into the mountainside we waited about 15 min (plenty of time to stroll around their beautiful gardens and take some pictures) before being seated. The rooms are sort of vintage European inspired, and the food is Italian based (pasta and risotto and salad, with random Japanese curry and quesadillas too). My salmon meal with cream sauce and furikake rice was super delicious and a good size - the salmon was perfectly cooked and juicy with a crispy flavorful skin, the cream sauce was decadent and paired perfectly with the wedge of lime, and the veggies were tender. It came with a choice of black coffee or black tea. The restaurant is located on the mountainside. After hiking to Yinhe Cave, it’s always a good choice to have a nice meal with significant scenery here. While waiting for being seated, you can walk around and take some pictures with gorgeous landscape outside of restaurant. The architectural style here is kind of something like European building in the Middle Ages. There’s a variety of exotic dishes collection from Japanese Curry Rice to Italian Pasta or German Pork Knuckle. They also provide salad if you’re on diet and cake for sweet tooth. Food - on the pricy side but forgiven for the main dish’s decent portion, freshness of ingredients and the VIEWS! Worth mentioning are the pumpkin soup - so yummy, and salad - so crispy, very fresh.

Affogato - almond flakes and chocolate bites are interesting but matcha ice rather than ice cream is a bit disappointing. The espresso base is strong and smooth, suggest to pick a safer coffee choice.

Service - Scandinavian style, courteous but not overly friendly, offered help when needed (charging my phone in low batteries).
