Read moreIt’s a beautiful restaurant but service wise needs a lot of improvement. Not a pro-family or kids restaurant. So do not visit if you have big groups.
It was a rainy day when we visited Maokong, so we were all in raincoats and with a baby pram. Staff welcomed you when you stepped inside, and we told them that we need a table of 4+1. The staff hanged our raincoats out in the rain, so when we left after the meal, our raincoats were soaking wet - which we requested to hang inside to dry as we will need to put it over the pram. However, I saw that there was a rain coat hanging inside the restaurant - so I assumed that it belonged to staff who works there. Hence we also took some time to dry the rain coat for the pram before we left the restaurant.
We took some time to remove the raincoats from the pram and ourselves, and the service staff just left the menu and writing pad for orders on the table and walked away. It was mid afternoon (around 3pm), so it was not crowded and the staff never returned to take our order even when we waived. We had to shout across the restaurant in order for the staff to check our orders - you have to write your own orders, so good luck if you do understand mandarin.
Food wise is normal but high price given the limited restaurants there.
We will visit other restaurants instead if we ever do go up...
Read moreSo very dissatisfied with this uninspired restaurant. I don't normally give bad reviews at all but they're lacking in every way possible.
Service: The moment we entered and asked for a change of seat (for a better view, that's the entire point of going up anyway), we got a rude response from the staff.
Had issues with ordering via the QR code, asked to order it directly instead. Was told to write our orders on a paper. That was a hassle for someone who doesn't write Chinese primarily. There were multiple staffs standing around too; we would've understood if they were busy, but they weren't.
Atmosphere: Poor table design that gives zero leeway, my thighs were struggling to squeeze in the small space between the chair and table. And I ain't fat!
The aircon was leaking too, water dripped on us.
Food: Either mid, or a total miss. The three-cup squid dish was overcooked and insanely hard to chew.

It's such a shame that they've got a gorgeous location but so much is neglected.
We came to the mountaintop six years ago, had an amazing meal at the restaurant beside. Restaurant was less adorned but food was banging. They were closed today (or permanently im not sure), but if they're open I recommend going to...
