Ejiaoge Mountain — Attraction in New Taipei

Unlike most of the other walking/hiking trails within Maokong, this trail requires climbing in the second half of the hike up. Relatively steep incline in some parts.

If you are expecting great views at the peak after your hard work, you will, unfortunately, be solely disappointed as they are all practically blocked by the dense vegetation.

The dirt and mud path.. has some part that requires rope.. not super hard but if wet after heavy rain, it's muddy and slippery (rocks).. so be aware. If you are with a group who goes fast, it's a little out of tempo.. cos u are struggling not of being safe and being fast at the same time... Bring a hiking stick and a bit of climbing...

Great walk only a short distance from Taipei. A round loop that starts and finishes at Maokong town, taking you through tea farms, gorgeous views back to Taipei and Taiwanese bush full of butterflies.
