NU PASTA — Restaurant in New Taipei

As an American who loves pasta, making and cooking pasta by hand, and has taken pasta classes in Italy, look elsewhere at least for whatever has white sauce and chicken.

First thing, the whole dish was definitely microwaved because it was too hot to eat for 5 minutes after taking the lid off. You just can’t get type of residual heat from a pan. This also means that they must use quite a bit of starch to make the sauce stay together as a hand made white sauce will split at that high of heat. This is backed by the incredibly bland taste of the sauce. The sauce is also very watery and barely sticks to the pasta which should be easier with penne so I can’t image what it would be with spaghetti. The chicken was also very dry, most probably also because of the microwave causing excess moisture to be removed from the chicken. This could also explain the watery sauce unless they just didn’t drain the pasta fully (water caught in the holes of the penne pasta) or it was from microwaving the mushrooms instead of sautéing them because mushrooms also contain a ton of moisture. For the price of over 200TWD I would expect much better execution and respect to the dish. Will not go back.

There is a place two stores down that has great pasta and makes everything in the pan, not a microwave. The place is called Ethan's Italian(義式料理) on Google Maps. Foreign friends go here instead until they fix this. I’ve tried all three sauces: red, green, and white and...

Not bad. For pasta it's a decent experience. But I had thought it'd be nice to toss in some bread in the combo. The normal combo A, includes a creme brule and drink but that puts the price on the more expensive side.

Don't be fooled by the reviews. They offer free dessert if you show a 5 star review on the phone.

Many family and children are here to have dinner. It has a robot waiter and gashapon machine which has one part for child customers. The vibe and pizza I ordered are good as well.

Crème brûlée as dessert, it is sweet.

Just be aware of the kids getting too close...
