it does credit to 2nd fl that all locations are consistently in mid-4-⭐ range
i chalk this up to staff -- naturally
sure you can reno -- you can turn a mound into a spaceship but you ain't gonna get stellar reviews & regulars & non-stop turnover without adherence to quality & standards & you genuinely feel that staff are happy & proud to be part of 2fl
(i think it's time to design new tees for staff -- specific to each location -- reflective of design intent & local colour : Zhongshan has so many hair salons & vintage shops it'd be fun to take staff face shape & let them select a pompadour or a mullet & this 2-tone tee has a distinctive back for each & get seasonal with tees : moon 🌕 festival coming up & custom New Balances would add to casual-fun-professionalism & give a refresh that isn't a new coat of paint & i believe it'd boost morale even further
best part of being on a sports team growing up is getting your own jersey
i think a corporation / a business that views staff & customers in the same way : for whom we shall endeavour in creating memories is a company that befits the time)
layers of customer satisfaction feedback built-in :
usually it's the wait staff who took your order to come back after a while & asks if all's to your liking this time i got a supervisor
normally i've never had issue with food, food prep, food quality ever at 2fl but this time the main of the main came a little underwhelming : steak wasn't sizzling
sure one could taste the quality of meat
sure the toast & fries were outstanding as always
but why is the steak seemingly have sat at the window or under-warmed up ?
sure enough supervisor went to kitchen & informed manager so the issue was addressed as i walked out
the steak is prepped sous-vide by a vendor & warmed & finished in pan on site
the goal -- obviously -- is to go healthy so like those new age bentos with calories info this steak is for the very health-conscious & isn't served on a griddle splattering grease
i suggested finishing in the pan as last step of assemblage
& maybe just a bit of sizzle -- in olive oil if we're picking good fats
(until the steak is addressed don't get this platter -- order literally anything else & you'll be fine -- steak is a blip)
overall a chain's continued expansion (banqiao spaceship launched March 2022) suggests something is being done right & done consistently right
& when you get invited to inhabit the mound beneath Google & FET you know you're the it-hobbit
(as i watched staff adjust pegs on tables to balance it occurred to me that the next 2fl might have electric-adjust tables)
& isn't it time to synergize ?
i propose the next location offers suite services on premises so moms can mimosa-brunch while kids are building with oversized Legos
salons & pets beauty care
yoga & yo-twerk lessons
the best part of visiting this new 2fl is the onslaught of innovation it inspires
2fl sure but what's on 3fl & 4fl ?

Read moreLocated just a few minutes walk from Far Eastern Hospital station on the Blue (Bannan) line MRT station, this restaurant features a nice bright design and atmosphere. The menu is a fusion of American and Asian food. Most of the main courses are priced between 300 and 400 NT, so bear in mind that this isn't a cheap night out. However, portion sizes were filling, and a variety of menu items were perfect for sharing (spicy chicken wings, truffle French fries/ chips etc.). There is a desert and drinks menu (of course) but beer was not on the menu and the rest of the drinks menu seemed limited in size, although it did include some juice/ shake options. Some dishes were surprisingly spicy, but tasted good. Service was quite efficient, and once ordered the meal came quickly. Our waiter seemed friendly and happy to help. Worth noting is that there are toilets, but these require leaving the restaurant and making your way into the main building - although not far, this could be a little disorienting for younger children. If I had one complaint, it would be that although I (and many other reviewers it seems) liked the design and overall atmosphere of the restaurant (a modern American diner/cafe), some of the physical menus definitely need a reprint/ replacing. Ours was very well thumbed, to the point where the information on the menu tabs was destroyed. A small point perhaps, but this left me with the impression that more effort needs to be made on these kinds of small details, as it (for me) created a negative first impression. Overall, if western/ asian fusion is something you are looking for and you are in the area this is one of the few options I'm aware of, and worth...
Read moreThis place is indeed a disappointment. The receptionist didn’t welcome us or notice we walking-in. The place is busy, music is too loud. Not understand why some people commenting this place “decent”. It has nothing related to that! Having food at a stainless steel table makes me feel a street market. The ordering system is also a joke, if your customer has to keep getting helps before they can send out the orders. It means the system is not working and just making more troubles. Then food - juice is from the box, lots of suger. I gave up right away and ordered another coffee to be safe. And I had an omelet, and this is the funniest omelet I’ve had in my life. Toasts at the side are wrapped with syrup and suger power. Exercise me? Can I just have a normal omelet and toastie?! My husband is also disappointed with the burger. Nothing is right here. Will never come...
