My laptop and I visit a lot of cafes. As an author, I’m always looking for good places not only to eat and drink but to sit and write for hours. As a teacher, I believe in scoring according to various criteria. With that in mind, these are my opinions about this one.
Food: ** I ordered a club sandwich, which turned out to be a panini. It contains corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cheese, and a tasty sauce. Oh, and trace amounts of tuna (there was a choice between tuna and ham). The English translation of the menu lists two items called “club sandwich”, but the Chinese is different; I’m not sure what the other one is. I also got the peanut thick toast, which was what you’d expect. Drinks: ** for the strawberry milkshake, which was tasty but not too rich or unnecessarily sweet. Later I ordered the honey citron tea, which was refreshing but a bit watery. I give that *. (Next time I want to try the macadamia latte, which sounds awesome, but I’d already had too much caffeine today.) Prices: * Variety of Menu Options Available: ** (I would have liked more food options--everything they have is bread-related. There are quite a few coffees and some teas that look good, but not many non-caffeinated choices.) Variety of Non-Coffee Drink Options: ** English Menu? yes Wifi Available? yes Pleasant Environment/Comfortable to Write In: * It’s clean, the music isn’t too loud, and it has plenty of space, including several outdoor tables. Customer Service: ** Hours: 8:00-6:00, according to the sign on their door. Google Maps says they close at 5 on Sundays and aren’t open Saturdays. Additional Comments: Two bikes and a motorcycle are parked in the cafe. The decor includes a total of ten medals...
