David & Alpaca — Restaurant in Shilin District

Wish I could leave a better review but this place is simply not worth the visit. The only attraction are the alpacas roaming around in the restaurant.

In terms of food, they have a confusing mix of options from Thailand, Western, Mexican, Chinese and everything in between. The things we ordered didn’t taste authentic (i.e. enchiladas and risotto). The seafood udon tasted poorly like old seafood.

All the dishes arrived at different times. My mushroom dish came last, after everyone finished theirs. I can’t imagine why mushrooms require longer cooking time than the enchiladas or udon, but that was their explanation.

The smoothies were very, very watered down. Overall, the food is extremely disappointing.

The service needs serious improvement. Staff is very inattentive and “rude” in terms of how they handed us the bill, while we were in the middle of the meal. They didn’t slap the bill down on the table but they might’ve well have—the waitress could’ve been more gentle placing the bill down and have more skill not to land it right next to the plate a guest was still eating from (the bill was literally touching the plate).

If they cared to make improvements, then this place has potential especially given...

Yangmingshan National Park best spot fot tourist people, this is kind of a GOOD COFFEE AND GRAFT BEER PLACE (DAVID AND ALPACA) Kids and women will love this place because of the 2 alpaca pets, they are really cute, the notty one is named 小小 and the elder one is named 小麥 they wander around the Cafe just like normal people heheh lol 😆 U can also go feed them with carrots and cabbages. Order of the day

1.Potato wedges with hot chilli sauce au gratin - 270 $NTD, the gratin is well flamed and is melted In the potato wedges and the peas and other grains

2.Long Island long tea -280 $NTD, normally they would mix black tea in this, but it was different from the Normal black tea, the alcohol was okay, not to strong not to light.

3.Milk assorted fresh fruit tea - 190 $NTD, fruit flavored, did not really mentioned which fruit, but milk tea in the Thai and Taiwanese style mixed Don't come alone here it's of no use, come as a couple or with kids, u will really enjoy the place

It located on the beautiful 陽明山 (Yangmingshan). We had a wonderful and unique experience! The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of food and the charming atmosphere. The alpacas are absolutely adorable, and it’s a real treat to see them up close while enjoying your meal. The food is delicious, with flavorful dishes that satisfy, and the staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe of the place.

The ambiance is perfect for a leisurely visit, and you can take a walk outside and enjoy some live performances, which adds a special touch to the experience.

However, a small thing to note is that some of the main dishes don’t come with rice, which felt a bit odd. It's something to keep in mind when ordering. But overall, this place on Yangmingshan offers a lovely experience with great food, cute alpacas, and a fantastic atmosphere. I’d definitely...
