Hui Tien Vegetarianism — Restaurant in Shilin District

This is what a 30-year old vegetarian 🪷 restaurant in Taipei feels like. Warm and homely ambience. The food was amazing, and served promptly. Everybody loved the fried, sweet coated enoki mushrooms, the 四神汤 was thick almost creamy and warms the tummy 🔥. The bitter gourd tofu stuffing was also nice. The speciality are the "meatballs" but we didn't get it. There are also 点心 dim sum (available all day), which we would have gotten if it wasn't such a late dinner. I enjoyed my meal here, though it was on the pricey side. I ordered the braised handmade tofu balls with wasabi, which were delicious. I also had some stir fried cabbage, which was tasty enough. I loved the tea that was provided with the meal. I would eat here again if I had a group to go with; it is better suited for sharing dishes family style (and they have tables with a rotating centre for this purpose). Wide selection of vegetarian dishes, conveniently with pictures and English translations in the menu. If you are looking for a vegetarian meal in a rather relaxed setting it's a good place to go. None of the dishes was outstanding in my opinion, but everything with a very agreeable taste, nothing too exotic or pungent. Coming as a group might be a good idea to try more dishes.
