Sushi Express Jihe Branch — Restaurant in Shilin District

I've visited a few different "convenience sushi" spots, and this one is consistently my favorite. The quality, price, and speed is simply unmatched. They can get pretty busy during peak hours, so I can't speak to that experience because I usually go when it's not busy, but I have always had very fresh, tender sushi here and the staff are delightful (and friendly to foreigners!). I know this is part of a large chain, and a lot of people have disdain for "cheap" sushi, but really this is quite good, and crazy affordable! Get the 60-90 TWD plates for especially tender, flavorful bites with huge servings of fish. The takeout experience is stellar too - this is a go-to spot for me when I'm passing by...

Fresh sushi for a reasonable price at NT$30, 40, or 60 a plate. There are two booths tucked in the back for families, and the staff was kind and attentive despite us half blocking their working aisle with our stroller. We were able to get a seat immediately at 12:45pm on Thursday. Our kids (4 and 2 years old) were fascinated by the conveyor belt so we had a relatively calm lunch. You can order additional items off the QR code menu. We also loved the milk pudding dessert!

Tip for visitors who can't read Chinese: stack the plastic dish covers back on the conveyor belt on the little towers...

I felt a bit overlooked when we had to wait for five minutes while there were open seats available. The restaurant has a decent atmosphere, but I believe it could benefit from investing in more comfortable seating to encourage customers to relax and enjoy their meals longer. Additionally, I was surprised by the imitation crab on rice, which didn't quite meet my expectations and affected my appetite.
