Niao Shao Izakaya - Shilin — Restaurant in Shilin District

This is my first Japanese Izakaya experience. Be honest, I am not familiar with the differences between type of Japanese restaurants. So I imagine Izakaya might be like a pub or tapa bar. Anyway, I enjoy my experience here. I ordered few dishes that I familiar with as a benchmark for the quality of their food. It passed my test :) fresh ingredients, nice presentation, excellent sushi rice and decent services. I didn’t adventure into foods that I am not familiar with this time. Date night in Shilin and we popped by this place. Didn't have any reservations but they were kind enough to sit us at the bar looking on to the kitchen which is always a blast to see the crew do their work. They actually have a few different stations throughout the restaurant with the yakitori off in one corner, fry next to it and the drinks and seafood in another. Cool setup.

Anyhoo the beer is cold, the food is hot and the service is great. 10/10, would go there again. And I will for sure. Really a great expression of an Izakaya. One of my favorites...

I ordered food from here several times via uber. Every time , Estimated delivery time was around 35 minutes. Then it continues to change, ending up taking almost 2 hours. It’s not even related to delivery, but food prep alone wete 90 minutes. What kind of business does this? And if we were to dine at the restaurant, would you make your customers to wait 90 minutes till you serve food? Either you put realistic estimated time or don’t take orders if you cannot serve them reasonably. So...
