越鄉越南美食館 — Restaurant in Shilin District

Stopped by here for lunch after visiting the National Palace Museum since the R30 bus goes directly to and from Shilin. There was a waiting queue outside when I arrived, so I received an ordering menu. Got seated after only 5 minutes and handed in the menu with my order (only Chinese menu). Food and drink were served after 5 more minutes, and the beef in tomato stew was excellent served with a perfect hot Vietnamese baguette (crispy outside and soft inside) together with an iced Vietnamese coffee. Found this while on our way to the Space museum amidst many restaurants. We ordered few regular dishes that we usually like to try in Vietnamese restaurants. Every dish we ordered were super delicious and surplus. Also the prices are reasonable. Coffee was a minor disappointment. It wasn't bad but it wasn't to the expectation that we had after trying in other Vietnamese restaurants. Was surprised to find customers flowing even at 3pm. It's not that authentic but it's ok(Thai+Taiwan mix) It'd been a pleasant experience for us where you could enjoy a wide range of Vietnamese options: from savory food (PHO, BUN), and desserts which I love (Black rice yogurt) The price seems reasonable NTD200+ for 1 meal comparing to other Viet resto in Taipei.
