Sunny Hills Taipei Minsheng Park Store — Restaurant in Songshan District

These pineapple cakes really are delicious. While I haven't tried them all, I wouldn't be surprised if they really were the best in Taiwan. As mentioned by most the other reviews, you are entitled to a free entire cake, along with a cup of (I believe) oolong tea, everything picture below. You are seated at a table (with others), in a very calm and relaxed setting to enjoy. If you choose, you can purchase a box when you're done... But no pressure whatsoever. They actually have other treats as well, such as apple cakes, but they didn't have any to sample. Their honey biscuits were a bit too crunchy and dry for me, tho might go well with coffee or tea, similar to a biscotti.

You can't go wrong with the traditional pineapple cake tho. Had I more room in my luggage I'd have purchased more, but the one box I got it fairly compact, and even comes with a very nice burlap bag, making a great gift. Highly recommend stopping by if you like...

Sunny Hills really has a good thing going. The exterior of the building doesn't look like your typical food store. There are 2 women greeting the customers. They either motion you to the right or to the left. The right side of the store is where you can peruse the products. If you go to the left, you wait to be seated at a communal table where you will be given a pineapple cake and a cup of tea. After sampling your cake, you can either leave or head over to the right hand side of the store to peruse all of their scrumptious products. The interior of the store is on the small side, but very contemporary.

When checking out, most gift boxes are already in darling little burlap type handle bags. We were also given a bottle of pineapple juice, also in its own carrying bag.

The ambiance is very warm and welcoming.There is no pressure to buy, but you do anyway as the presentation of their cakes and other products...

I think one of the place to go to during your visit to Taipei (*if you a food lover, especially sweets).

The place is beautifully done, and they greet you in a nice and charming way. When you come by to this store, you can sit down and enjoy the pineapple cake with a cup of tea.

The pineapple cake is warm and delicious (After trying, I think 90% will buy this pineapple cake to give to your friend and family, I did tough :p). The combination of the pineapple cake and tea is nice to sit down and talk a bit.

from my view, people usually sit down 10-15 minutes as there always people coming and they giving out free pineapple cake and tea.

I rate this place 4 out 5 due to the hospitality, and food quality.
