Did not make a mistake of selecting this place for my first hotpot in Taiwan Taichung city. It was a distance away from my hotel but the taxi fare was well worth it.
Ordered the pork selection for 2 (800g) and the beef selection for 2 (800g). The pork was iberico and black pork. It was good but after getting into the 2nd half of the meat selection, it got a bit too fatty. The beef had wagyu which were good. The orders were a bit too much for the 4 of us hence managed to only cover a single round of the buffet selection. The sauce were very good. The satay sauce, hot chilli, french sauce and the honey sesame were all very good.
Sampled the milk tea which was exactly the same tasting milk tea which we bought in Tokyo. The sundae was also very good. It came in milk and papaya flavour.
All in, it was a pretty good hotpot dinner. Only issue was the timing.....patrons had only 2 hours to saviour their orders. When time is up, you gotta go. Another issue was transportation. We could not get a cab back to the hotel. Had to walk to the shopping mall nearby to ask for help from...
Read moreThis is one of our frequent Hot Pot places and it never disappoints. For 4 people we usually get the Meat Mountain as we call it and it’s more than enough and the presentation is nice. The meat is good quality there are many choices for broth and the vegetable bar has enough variety for our liking. There is 2 levels and if it’s nice out they have tables outside as well. Aside for some drinks, everything is on the first level which means you have to plan your trip to the bar and for sauces it it’s only a few steps on the somewhat very shallow stairs to get more. Overall we always walk away satisfied, only negatives are it’s sometimes very cold upstairs, they don’t have my favorite Tom Yum broth anymore (or maybe just for now) and you realize you smell like hotpot when...
Read moreWe opted for the meat rack that we saw on Mark Wiens video, it was MORE than enough for 2 ladies. There are different soup options but I chose a clear one that was perfect. There’s a buffet section for the other typical hotpot ingredients, veggies, mushrooms, etc. A good amount of drinks selection including slushies! An ice cream soft-serve machine for dessert. It’s not convenient for old people to sit up as you have to walk up & down to collect the buffet ingredients. Regardless, I think its value for money dining here, everything was good...
