Doki² maid café — Restaurant in Taichung

Not a vibe. I recommended this place to try out with my friend because it had good reviews. Sadly I was disappointed big time and I felt I had let my friend down. My friend from the UK was visiting and I was new to Taichung so I found this and thought, let’s try it out. Firstly, it was really hard to find. I struggled. It’s in an alleyway and even then you might miss it because it’s on the second floor. I was 10/15mins late. My friend had already ordered. There is a minimum spend of 200ntd per person. There were about 4 waitresses. All dressed really nice and cute and at first I thought it was gonna be a cool experience. You scan the QR code and choose what you want. My friend ordered hot green tea and waffle fries. I ordered iced green tea with milk and nuggets. There was nothing special about them, tasted fine. Apparently there is a 90 minute time limit and exactly 90 minutes later when my friend had entered they came over and asked him to leave. They said I could stay because I had come in a little bit later. When I pointed out that it was empty, they pushed the receipt to us to indicate that they weren’t budging on that. Surely out of courtesy, they should have allowed my friend to stay with me until my time was up since I would’ve been taking up the space of a 4 person table anyway. Obviously I left with my friend. Not impressed at the rudeness! I understand rules are put in place and should be followed but they were not nice about it. Very cute and fun maid cafe! This is the most well-done maid cafe I have been to in Taiwan. Food is delicious, and the maids seem to really enjoy their job and have a good time goofing around. Friendly atmosphere - we took my wife's parents here and they enjoyed it as well. We went back a second time on Christmas Day and their Christmas-themed costumes were really special 🤣 We will come back again next time we are in Taiwan. 從舊店剛開始經營時就經常光顧，當時並不曉得女僕們遭受了那麼多不合理的對待。 女僕們一直都沒有將事情說出，一直都以笑容對待客人，不會讓顧客失望。 但老闆卻讓女僕們都失望了，也讓我這個老顧客失望透頂。 甚至到了前兩天，好多女僕都因為雇主的違法行為離職並且站出來訴說事實，雇主依然不承認所有違反勞基法的規定以及行為。 希望不要再有更多女孩子被騙進去受害，如果老闆願意改善，那成為合法工作者那是最好。但是對於過往的種種錯誤行為也應當承認並且向過去的女僕們致歉，否則這樣子的店家總有一日會因違法行為造成不可收回的後果，建議老闆多多反省自己，好好改善，不要再做惡老闆！ 我的一顆星給糟糕的老闆，其他部分的五顆星送給過往所有的女僕們。

更新 看到店內目前的策略是利用優惠讓客人刷五星好評，顯而易見的是老闆完全沒有反省、不想改善，用這種方式挽救評價並不會讓店家變得更好，今後如果還是維持糟糕的雇用關係，這家店最後只會因為沒人而倒閉而已。真的不想把話說得這麼難聽，拜託老闆用點良心，好好改善根本行不行，不要...
