Hotel Champs Elysees — Hotel in Taichung

It is a nice hotel but their published pictures can be a bit "misleading". It looks fancy, but there are many small things which suggest that this place could improve a lot. The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable. The TV has a lot of channels. There are slippers and basic things such as toothbrushes included in the room. At the reception, there is a popcorn machine which creates a very nice smell. The people in the reception are very nice. The view from my room was great.

Now, the negatives: the 9th floor is really noisy. A lot of noise from the streets come in and I suspect that the ventilation is also audible, especially during the evening. At least I heard a low frequency humming/buzzing noise all the time. The bathroom is big and nice, but the sink looked a bit beaten up: a lot of scratches and dents. The bath tub is the same. The plug for the tub was fixed with a rusty wire. The hanger for the towel has its ribs in the wrong direction, so you cannot really hang your towel so it can dry properly. The corridor was full of construction materials such as tiles and cement. The breakfast was very delicious but it was strange that I received a box with the sandwiches and a cup with the drink. So, there is no kitchen for the breakfast but you get an ordered food. The AC in my room was not functioning, at least the heating part. In the beginning, it was 21°C then it dropped to 20°C. In the morning, I woke up feeling very cold. Either they should fix the heating or provide thicker blankets.

The place looks like it is still under construction or renovation. Once they finish, I believe that they'll be an awesome place. I hope they fix some of the above mentioned issues...

Nice hotel for 5 pax (1st visit to TC). Clean and nice rooms. Toilet mirror has Bluetooth connections and plus points is the automaric bidet which is like the Japanese version and also a movable 2 sided mirror that has both normaland 3x magnifying lens.

Big wardrobe for clothes to hang.

Level 2 has washers and dryers for TWD$30 and other TWD$30.

Plenty of places to take pics for your FB and IG.

Staff are friendly and helped to arrange 1 or half day trips.

Opposite has a Family Mart convenient store and left of hotel has a 7-11 for quick meals.

Walkable distances for night markets with plenty of stores and malls for meals...

This is a story of two rooms. First room on the 12th floor I was given was noisy overall. I could hear all the noise from the street and noise from the neighboring rooms.
