臺中公園內最重要的地標就是位於人工水池(後來稱為日月湖)中結合東西建築型式且具有南洋風味的雙亭，有湖心亭或日月亭、中正亭、池亭之稱。日治時期地圖上曾有弘園閣和香閣之稱。 湖心亭為雙併式尖頂涼亭，內為同一平台構造水上建物，水面及以下主要以混泥土柱支撐，平台以上樑柱以木架為主結構，外圍護欄以鑄鐵式欄杆，主柱上亦設鑄鐵造燈架，屋頂尖端以四脊圓弧交叉為頂高設計之造型，在臺灣所未見。由於湖心亭造型雅致可愛，紅瓦白牆，獨特的四角亭頂，浮映在一片湖光與綠意之中，特別富詩意，更是許多攝影名家及畫家捕捉的對象，而透過作品的傳達，使臺中公園湖心亭聞名遐邇，也提高臺中公園美化層面，提供市民更豐富的休憩空間。 The most important landmark in Taichung Park is a double pavilion with a Nanyang flavor that combines eastern and western architectural styles in an artificial pool (later called Riyue Lake), known as the Huxin Pavilion or Riyue Pavilion, Zhongzheng Pavilion and Chi Pavilion. On the map during the Japanese occupation period, Hongyuan Pavilion and Xiang Pavilion were known. The Huxin Pavilion is a double-paralleled gazebo with a water structure on the same platform. The water surface and below are mainly supported by concrete columns. The beams and columns above the platform are mainly wooden structures, and the outer guardrails are made of cast iron railings. There is a cast iron lamp holder, and the shape of the roof tip is designed with four ridges and arcs crossing the top height, which is not seen in Taiwan. Due to the elegant and lovely shape of the lake heart pavilion, the red tiles and white walls and the unique four-corner pavilion are reflected in a lake and green, which is particularly poetic. Very pretty Nmand cultural. I didn't have a chance to go on the little boats, it was too hit but I want to try again in winter.
