I've been here a few times over the years though I just haven't taken the time to review it but this gorgeous restaurant is still one of the best steakhouses not just in Taichung but arguably in Taiwan. Their meats are absolutely scrumptious and cooked to delightful perfection, served by an amazingly professional yet friendly staff, and the side dishes are done lovingly and with lots of flavors.

After eating bread so good it reminded me of my hometown's 400-year-old bakery - I could have eaten two loaves myself, but I didn't - I then chose the kale, brussel sprouts, red endive, and quinoa salad and it was one of the most artistic and yummy salads I've had in a long time, then a lobster bisque which was an absolute pleasure to eat, followed by my favorite cut of meat, the ribeye cap, again cooked perfectly and served with garlic and a side of sautéed mushrooms.

All in all it's a royal and truly superb experience that brings many of us back to this fine establishment hopefully for...

I went yesterday with my husband and toddler. I was worried that it wouldn't be a place for kids, but they had a highchair and dinnerware for him. They even had a coloring page and crayons.

We ordered two set meals, the fish and the 8oz wagyu ribeye. I'm not exactly sure what the fish was, but it was really flavorful and you could eat the leeks by themselves they were so good. The ribeye was extremely tender. Other highlights of the meal were the onion gratin soup and the apple tart. My husband's eyes lit up when he bit into the tart; he was really impressed.

The service was great and I'm not sure if the other reviews just came on a bad day or what. The staff was extremely attentive; it was like they were watching our facial expressions to see if we needed anything. Thank you to our waitstaff for being so professional. They all spoke fluent English, if that's important for anyone...

Pricy, Very very expensive, 165USD X 2. Service was ok at first when there're only 4 tables occupied.

Taiwanese quality but asked for French/NY, USA price, same as Lawry's steak house. Great appetizer, soup and dessert were ok. 1850NTD steak was soso quality like 1000 grade, 2350NTD steak was ok. especially when I notice that chef was younger than I think, ONE STAR FOR YOU! Waitress recommand I should take my steak rare but it's actually served as medium well on my table, over done, TASTE WAS merely OK. And side dish was awful, tasteless. Salad was terrible. customers are not be fooled around. Overrated, Over priced, it's like a Ferrari without an engine. Paid reviews won't save your business. GQ MEANS...

複雜的心情寫下這則留言 今天我們一家四口用餐 共花了12606元 這是我們家第一次吃這麼貴的餐廳(平常一客1500已經很頂峰了) 也是我特別想給家人驚喜 籌辦也期待好久的一天! 我想這如果跟一般一千元左右餐廳比較已經很不錯,但今天是一人三千多元,會用不同的標準思考: 📍先說優點: 1. 內部裝潢很舒服,餐桌很大,氣氛很棒(但有一點點暗,食物會看起來沒那麼美) 2. 麵包非常好吃,作為首道料理是個很棒的開場 3. 前菜的干貝&明蝦很好吃,不過類似生魚片那道則相對普通 4. 湯品的卡布奇諾&番茄湯很厲害,卡布奇諾讓媽媽讚不絕口,番茄湯煙燻味很香很濃,看到喜歡番茄的爸爸喝光光還特別撈一下很開心 有了美好的前菜開場,都讓我們非常期待主餐及後續甜點的到來,但讓我從頭開始說起我覺得能進步的部分: 📍缺點 1. 因到路口時沒有停車場的標示,而餐廳位置又在十字路口,若從公益路過去會不知道有沒有停車場,不知道要往哪個方向找車位,還是打電話去詢問才知道有,建議在路口能加個告示牌或是電話訂餐時可以貼心說明。 2. 進去前看到窗戶非常髒?也可能是因為剛下完雨,但我覺得若有特別保養應該也不會是這麼灰暗的狀態,對於當時很緊張要給爸媽驚喜的我,並不是一個很好的開場,可惜了整個美麗的建築物。 3. 餐點介紹時,今天介紹的女生有一位看起來應該剛來,詢問細節時有一種不確定的感覺,除了降低餐廳高級形象,也讓我們對於餐點介紹不是很完整理解,建議加強員工訓練才能出場介紹。(後來另一位資深同事介紹就很清楚) 4. 雖然水費收50元可能是很多高檔餐廳的必要條件,不過對於不習慣這個方式的台灣人來說,這個收費讓我媽媽不點水QQ希望水費能包含在套餐中避免增加這個額外費用的感覺。 5. 湯品的湯餃,讓我非常後悔點那道哈哈,喝起來像水餃湯,而且水餃也沒有特別好吃(可以說很普通,在外面賣10塊我都不會點),當然清湯頭是不錯,但相較其他番茄/濃湯的美味相差太遠。 6. 再來終於來到最期待的「主餐牛排」 我想我們都非常期待這個三千塊的牛排會多好吃,我們家也算是很喜歡吃牛的人,每月都會吃個兩次原燒或森森燒肉、壽喜燒等牛肉餐廳,西堤/凱恩斯牛排等等也常去吃,小時候會去王品/夏慕尼,我自己也吃過台北的教父跟168牛排。 相比之下這個牛排真的是沒有很好吃⋯除了我們點的「店內最貴A5和牛」之外,其他三道牛排,我覺得我們家都是硬著頭皮吃完😭超級無敵難過 1. 乾式熟成紐約客:我爸爸點的,好險我們當時沒選兩人份,如果沒吃過乾式的真的建議先點一份吃吃看就好,對於不喜歡太老或太硬牛肉的朋友,真的不算好吃 2. 肋眼菲力:我媽媽點的,吃兩口就問我弟要不要多吃點,吃完一塊就說了一句「好油」然後請服務人員幫忙再讓表皮焦一些後,還是沒有非常喜歡。我看了真的好難過,她吃到一半我就想跟他說要不要我幫她吃⋯(好難過 3.美國老饕:我點的,我覺得比1.2.好吃,但不知道是不是真的太生(吃起來其實還好,但就是很膩)吃到第二塊我真的想問可以沒吃完嗎😂 真的硬著頭皮努力把它吃完,還切給我弟幫我吃,完全沒有享受的感覺⋯(台北168一樣是老饕牛排好吃多了 補充我是超級無敵喜歡吃牛排的人,平常會買牛排自己煎來吃,真的覺得我男友煎的還比較好吃😂 打到這裡已經好難過,看著家人吃成這樣,我感覺這個驚喜已經毀了,單純是一個撒錢買經驗的一餐,不是什麼此生難忘第一名牛排餐 7. 再來說說牛排配料,整體就是一個字「鹹」,如果每一道都再不鹹一點應該不錯(我們家已經吃很重鹹) - 蘑菇很鹹,自己煎的還比較好吃😂 - 茭白筍,偏鹹(沒幫助解膩) 8. 這時只能期待能有個好吃的甜點當作結尾,期盼地等待甜點到來 結果也只有一個字「甜」,唉~我們家已經能接受偏甜,我爸媽喝飲料都點正常甜 但冰淇淋除了焦糖外真的有夠甜,千層蛋糕太甜很容易膩,贈送的巧克力蛋糕也不好吃直接外帶,真的覺得甜點必須大改進一下 尤其附上的兩盤小點心組合,真的是個多餘的扣分存在,超爆甜,不確定真的會有人喜歡嗎?真的是看在很貴的份上硬吞下去 9. 飲料能續杯還不錯,紅茶還算好喝,熱花茶就蠻普通的也沒有很熱,沒能解小甜點的甜膩 總之吃飽走回路上到現在,我們家沒有任何一個人講到今天的這一餐⋯⋯我想大家應該是看我這麼想給大家驚喜的樣子怕我難過吧 我也在想真的要讓他們留下那麼貴的餐廳其實不一定好吃這個印象嗎? 到底是我們的問題還是這種牛排就真的不合我們胃口的問題還是真的是餐廳的問題,我正反覆思考 總之我真的太過難過,不知道要用什麼心情面對我花了一萬多塊在一餐,還沒有讓大家吃得很開心這件事,更別提原本妄想的「此生最高級/最難忘料理」的期盼,希望留這個言讓餐廳可以採納一下去做改進,讓之後前往的朋友能有符合期待的一餐。
