3.5 stars.
Food: There was quite a variety of food and I filled my plate with meat (beef, seafood, cold cuts, etc.) and another plate of sashimi. There was beer on tap and three types of juice (mulberry, guava, and watermelon milk) as well as soda, sparking water and even red wine. There was too much I wanted to eat but couldn't as I was full very quickly (and then empty later that evening -- see below). Nice selection of desserts. Caution: I experienced vomiting and diarrhea that night, so try to check the freshness of the food you select.
Service: professional, but not overly polite or engaging. Clearing of plates could be faster. However, overall, staff were able to meet my requests without issue.
Atmosphere: Too loud. The arrangement of foods was not so logical, so there were several dishes that I didn't see when filling my plate. On the positive side, since I went with a group, we had a private room. The bathroom was clean.
Overall: if you are staying at the hotel, you might as well give it a try. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. It's not close to me, so I won't go back unless...
Read moreIt's really not very good. There's a distinct lack of international food and it's all catered towards the Asian pallet. The biggest problem is that the food is all cold. It's wintertime and yet none of the food is hot. The beef steak is probably the worst I've had in my life. It's so chewy I thought I was eating a piece of old rope! It cost 1200 NTD per person to eat here but I left feeling I really didn't get value for money as most of the food was inedible.
Towards the end they started serving Tangyuan but the portion was so small you were only allowed one or two balls maximum each. The Tangyuan wasn't even cooked through and was undercooked. Even that was cold. I know it's Winter but is this a Winter themed food day? Because everything was cold even the soups...
This buffet once had a reputation as one of the best in the city but those glory days are long behind it now. A classic example of quantity over quality. Save your money and eat somewhere else. It's...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted to have worms in the sashimi station. I grabbed some sashimi and wasabi to enjoy, yet while I was eating it, I found out that there was tiny worms crawling (yes they are alive) on my soy sauce and wasabi plate. It's absolutely disgusting and shocking coming from such a luxurious hotel. I was in too much shock that I did not take any pictures. This is such a huge issue that needs further examination from governmental public health sectors.
Additionally, they continued serve sashimi to customers while investigating the food safety issue I reported. The lack of responsibility for customer health and safety is...
