Yuge Sushi — Restaurant in Taichung

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We used to enjoy coming here as a family. The food used to be great. The service used to be good. But over the years, their food has become quite mediocre which as a baseline is still semi-bareable. However, what is absolutely unacceptable is how their service has degraded to the point of completely neglecting the safety of their customers. On our most recent (and final) visit- the server mishandled the hot pot, spilling boiling hot soup all over my grandparents. No attempts were made to clean up the mess they created. Nothing more than an insincere "sorry" was provided to remedy the situation. We had to wipe off our grandparents, their belongings, the table, etc on our own. But more than the lack of means taken to remedy the situation, is the fact that something like this even happened to begin with. Because honestly anyone with even half a brain should have enough common sense to carry a pot of boiling hot liquid with care, and should never have allowed it to overflow onto another being. I came here with a group of my friends in Taichung and I had no idea what to expect. They were excellent at accomodating our big group of 14 people in two separate tables and all our dishes came out with no delay. Of course we had reservations made ahead of time and ordered the set ahead of time but there was no complications. We actually ended up adding two more people and they were very nice about it. The shrimp steam egg appetizer was soft and flavorful. I wanted more! the sushi was fresh and creative. Have visited this Sushi restaurant on 6 or 7 occasions now and I am very happy to recommend it to others.

The quality of the sushi is great every time and the pricing is reasonable too. They do offer a business lunch menu that is around NT360 and I would budget for around 500-700 per person for dinner.

The sushi is nicely presented and you can order exactly what you want a la carte.

Parking can be a challenge, but for the brave you can park right outside the front door and then ask them to watch the car for you.
