Delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. I was craving carne asada and this was the top rated place in the Tainan area so I chose this restaurant. Upon arriving I was promptly seated, and provided a menu and water. I asked about the carne asada, and the owner had advised that in the shoulder seasons, they get their beef from Australia which is not an ideal beef for carne asada. Therefore it was unavailable, but she did recommend the Birria tacos. And my oh my were these amazing. I’ll get to that soon. I started an order of nachos and two margaritas since it was taco Tuesday and they offer a bogo marg or mojito deal! The nachos came pretty quick and were delicious. I specifically enjoyed the hint of lime in the pico that is used as topping. It was served in a cast iron which preserved the heat of the nachos for the entire duration of me eating them. However, once I was finished I still had not received my drinks. I was a bit disappointed since I just had a delicious appetizer, but nothing proper to wash it down. I followed up with the waiter and he had informed me that I needed to wait for her to make the drinks. I was like, “ok?”. Maybe he isn’t 18 idk. Shortly after my tacos came out and I asked her if I could get my drinks. She was a bit frazzled since she is a one-man-band (chef and bartender) and there was an influx of customers shorty after I arrived. However she did knock out the two cocktails and made them for me before returning to the kitchen to resume cooking. The tacos were spectacular, they had a delicious authentic taste that only experienced Mexican chefs understand. I will return here solely based for the birria tacos alone. I believe there is opportunity for operational improvement when it comes to the drinks, perhaps she could cross-train the male server to perform her bartending tasks and alleviate the pressure of crunch time dining. All in all, I would give it a 5 star, but the cocktails arriving so late was the only thing holding me back. 4 Stars, delicious, worth the price and...
Read moreI traveled to Guadalajara Mexico to work for over 10 years between 1999 to 2010, In those 10 plus years, I also visited many different states and cities within the Mexico, so I have pretty good understand of Mexican cuisine.
When I found Cocina Quedadilla on Google map, read the reviews and studied the photos when I was in Taiwan, I was elated and decided that I have to have a meal over there even it is 160 KM away.
I was the very first patron for lunch on a Tuesday. Soon as I walked in, the atmosphere make me feel like I was back in time when I visited a local taquiria in Mexico. The sight, the sound and the smell, I instantly knowing my time will not be wasted.
The owner worked with me to fixed a three taco meal with different meat, which is not on the menu because I was by myself and like to try as many different taco as possible.
All three tacos (Birria, Carnitas and shrimp) are delicious, juicy, well-seasoned and full of flavors I devolved so quick I wish this restaurant was located bit close.
I finished with bread pudding, you can check the photo I attached to tell how I like it.
Only difficulty is the parking, It may deter me for visiting Prosila again.
PS. The wash basin also reminded me my time in...
Read moreReally bad. It started with us asking for the menu items on the pictures posted outside of the restaurant such as 'spicy fajita quesadilla.' Not only are the pictures fake, the items aren't even on the menu! We ordered tacos, nachos, burritos, and a burger.
Burritos - nicely sized but cold on the inside. You also have to order a drink if you order a burrito??? Not sure why.
Hamburger - way too thick of a party so incredibly dry inside
Nachos - 'cheesy cheese' means nacho cheese from a can.
Tacos - didn't try them myself but our friend enjoyed them and they did seem to be served hot.
Unless you have no other place to go, better to avoid it. The high reviews and the pictures they have really got our hopes up. We left really...
