永和豆漿 — Restaurant in Taipei

Okay I have been to Hang Fu twice and this time the line was too unbearable so we went here.

Argh...

I am sorry but this place is really not good. I had the exact sesame bread with eggs and there is no comparison. It is like comparing the free hotel coffee vs a Starbucks latte.

I hate to say this but wait the 40 minutes for Hang Fu. I was the one saying in their review it is not worth 30 minutes wait but after tasting same item at different spot, I would wait or try another place nearby. The people giving 4 star reviews for the food need to try more places. I have eaten so many places in Taipei and Tainan and many types and different restaurants so I think I know somewhat.

Norhing against the service. It is just so dark inside and food is not good. No problems with the people working there. Just much better choices and...

When I came here with my mother for a late lunch, we had very sub par dumplings, xiaolongbao, youtiao, and soybean milk.

We saw a cockroach on the floor and then there was another cockroach that crawled up our table. I screamed that there was a cockroach crawling up our table, the boss lady and another lady stopped putting frozen store bought xiaolongbao into the steamers, used their bare hands to swipe the cockroach onto the floor and then continued to put the xiaolongbao into the steamers with the same bare hands.

My mother and I stopped eating immediately, paid and left.

I've seen some one star reviews and they're either petty about small things or it's been years and the shop changed owners or something.

A small local shop just around the corner of the over-hyped Fu Hang which probably sells the same thing with a long queue if you have nothing better to do after.

Soy milk was so delicious that I had to get a second cup (sweetened). Food was delicious as well, I'd say food was warm but didn't really occur to me until I read some reviews. (~250twd for two people)

It's great that Fu Hang is getting good traction but remember that there are stores nearby that probably sells the same thing and ya'll wasting time lining up when you could've had a feed and off to...
