One of the friendliest restaurants I have been to so far!
We arrived with a group of six just to realize that we might have some space problems in the tiny dine in area. However, the waiter was super helpful and made sure we could all fit anyways. I can recommend only dining in with groups of max. 4 people.
We ordered chickpea, chicken and mutton curry with garlic naan. As appetizers they dished out seasoned onion slices which after initial hesitation were surprisingly good!
From everyone's opinion the mutton curry was super delicious and is the absolute recommendation. I personally had the bbq chicken curry and while it was very tasty, it was also very heavy. The chickpea curry was decent, but my friends liked the other curries more. The naan ordered as a side seemed homemade and was really good.
The only two real downsides for the dinner were the ~45min waiting time from ordering to receiving our food and that while the portions are large the dishes (in combination with naan and maybe a yogurt) are on the little more...
Read moreFantastic food and service at a reasonable price. I'm vegetarian and I've tried their Aloo Gobhi, Aloo Capsicum, Kashmiri Aloo Dum, Daal Tadka, Chana Masala (Chickpea curry) and all are amazing. My favorite would be their Aloo Gobhi and Daal Tadka. Don't forget their brilliant Indian turmeric rice as well.
The food is made fresh and with heart. If you go onsite, you can witness the owner (Mr. Tashi) prepare it first-hand. He has a very lively personality and will also chat with you as he efficiently prepares multiple orders. Note that this is mostly a take-out place, although they do have one table on site where one can "dine-in".
In a city with dozens of mediocre Indian fare, this unassuming place on the fringes of Shida Night Market is truly a hidden gem. Highly recommend to anyone craving some tasty...

By far my favorite place to eat to eat Indian food. The owner and chef Tashi has a heart of gold and really takes care of his customers, and is super passionate about Indian cuisine!
I love the chickpea curry! It is a very simple dish yet the flavors are so rich and satisfying. The homemade hot sauce adds a real kick try it if your brave, and don’t forget the handmade nan.
Also, definitely try the Indian “pulled” Chai! It’s delicious and it’s preparation is quite the show.
The prices are very reasonable at Namaste Taiwan, much more affordable then other Indian restaurants in town, and the food here is better because Tashi makes it...
