Would have given this place zero stars if I could. Disappointing service and inflexibility, regret deciding to countdown my birthday at this place. 若要慶生,千萬不要來。
Decided to spend my birthday in Taipei this year and found this bar interesting, but the service and rigidity was honestly unacceptable. We understood that there was a dining time limit but were not given any heads up on any post-bookings in the middle of our slot (which could have been avoided as we are completely ok with leaving in advance for another location and celebrate/countdown elsewhere before 12am)
My friends decided to prepare a birthday dessert and placed the order at 11pm to be served at midnight on the dot and the service staff agreed. But at 11:40, a staff approached us to say we NEEDED to leave the restaurant at 12 sharp, no allowance or explanation why, even after saying that we only needed 2-3 mins to sing the song and leave immediately after. (Would have been extremely sad if we had to celebrate outside by the roadside - and I did??!!)
What was strange was that they originally agreed to serve the cake/dessert at 12 midnight but ended up forcing us to celebrate my birthday 15 mins in advance, refusing to put the “dessert” on a plate as it probably was too troublesome. Song was sung, thankfully still with a candle at 11:50pm.
Appalled by the service and inflexibility of staff at this place, with other things, but this review is getting too long for nothing. Food was pretty decent though, which was a pity. Never coming back - disappointing that this place was the only one that left a bad taste in my mouth throughout my trip in Taiwan. Music choice was also one thing I...
Read moreWalking in is like you've stepped into the HP books! Very authentic looking decor, plenty of seating, good lighting, quality bathrooms. (Edit: Note, it's not wheelchair accessible as there are steps into the place, and the bathroom also has a step).
We only ate the brownie dessert, but it was delicious. We drank Butter Beer 0%, and 3 cocktails, including the Avada Kedavra drink! All were delicious, but watch out for the Avada -- it's got some kick!
The magicians hadn't yet come to our table (busy night), so we asked for a show, and the owner/head magician came to our table and did about 10 minutes of tricks that had our jaws dropped Petrificus Totalus and our minds Confundo!
As we left, they also gave us free tea-lcohol shots, plus some chicken soup broth. Extremely hospitable! Highly recommended!
The only thing I wish was different is they played standard-faire bar music. I suggest they at least infuse it with a Harry Potter soundtrack song once per hour, just for the fun of it. Plus, why not have a HP themed band come in to play? Could call them the Weird Sisters, like from the books.

Read moreThis was a fun place to hang out. The spot was heavily decorated with Harry Potter theme from the room itself down to the menu. As a Harry Potter fan, I definitely appreciated the details they had with the place.
Alright, here are a few must tries,
Butter beer - It was creamy, sweet, but not too sweet. Compare to what I had in the universal studio, their butter beer was hands down the best. Fries - There were two types of fries. We had the garlic one which was tasty and crispy. We didn't try the truffle one, but we heard a lot of good reviews about that. Magic show - It was really fun to watch the magic show up and close. The magician perform the show for you if you receive a "red envelop". We didn't receive one, but the magician was nice enough to do a few tricks for us. Tiramisu - Loved it!
Also a few tips They serve non-alcoholic butter beer :) Magic show starts at 7pm to noon every Fri and Sat. Ask for the red envelope to have the magician come to you to perform.
We'll bring the kids...
