Salto Pizzeria Napoletana — Restaurant in Xinyi District

Came here really excited, having been recommended to dine here by my aunt that used to come quite regularly. Can't say that I was very impressed with the experience though.

We upgraded one of our main courses to a set, the mushroom soup that came with the set was really bland, and lacked flavour, almost as if they forgot to seasoned it (wasn't the only person who thought this), but you can tell that they use quality ingredients, it was very creamy. Too bad it lacked seasoning :(

On the contrary, the truffle beef penne we ordered was slightly salty but we still quite enjoyed it. The pasta was perfectly al dente and very fragrant.

We ordered two savoury pizzas - White truffle mushroom and Italy salami pizza. Honestly their flavours are quite good, but my only problem is with the pizza crust. Not quite sure how to put it, but the texture was too stale, also too salty. Even my aunt agreed that it's not like how it used to taste like. Other than the crust, everything else was quite good!

Also tried out their caramel mascarpone pizza and this is the real deal! The flavour was amazing and very creative, not overly sweet. Perfect as a sweet treat, but again, their pizza crust was quite off, definitely too salty with a somewhat awkward texture.

Their appetizer were great though, really impressed with their tiramisu as well. Despite some shortcomings, the overall experience wasn't too bad. The workers are polite and i especially loved their interior design, neat and perfect for pictures! Waiting time was reasonable. Would honestly give here a second chance, you can tell the ingredients they use are great. Just need some improvement. If you plan on visiting here, please don't let this review scare you away. I'd still say this place is worth visiting, perfect for family...

This is a place you don't want to miss out on in Taipei if you like true Neapolitan pizza. I ordered the buffalo cheese pizza with tomatoes and basil, and it tasted great. The pizza crust is well fermented and cooked perfectly. It has that unique aroma that could only be achieved by being cooked in a good pizza oven, together with the bread-like chewy texture and lightly salted taste you get the authentic Neapolitan pizza base. The buffalo cheese has a delicate flavor, the tomatoes are a little bit bland however. I can imagine if this restaurant were in Naples it would be very competitive in terms of product quality. All in all I'm delighted to find a pizzeria that offers authentic Neapolitan style...

Ordered Margarita pizza: so delicious and saucy Truffle pizza: if you love truffle oil this one is a must. Squid risotto: subtle seafood flavor, loved it! Latte: GREAT ratio of foam to coffee (which often lacks in Taipei) Tiramisu: was not my fav. But everything else was so good that this place still deserves 5 stars.
