A lovely, small Japanese sashimi restaurant! Two of us visited for lunch on a rainy day. Based on what we’d read online, the place is usually crowded, but perhaps due to the long-lasting rain and cooler weather, there was no queue when we arrived. We hired a taxi to get there and were pleased to walk straight in, choosing seats at the counter.
The chef handed us a few menus, and we initially started ordering à la carte. Interestingly, the chef approached us and suggested we order a set instead, likely noticing that our à la carte choices would end up being much more expensive. His thoughtful advice saved us the hassle of piecing together a meal, so we agreed and ordered a set to share, along with still many of additional à la carte sashimi.
The set was no disappointment—the soup was flavorful, and the accompanying sashimi was good. As for the à la carte sashimi, the cuts were thick, the portions generous, and the freshness impeccable. A great sashimi experience lies in the freshness of the fish, the portion size, and the chef’s skill in cutting—and this place delivered on all fronts. We enjoyed every piece without issue.
We also had a pleasant chat with the chef, a friendly and knowledgeable fellow who shared some interesting information with us. After finishing our meal, we lingered for a bit of chit-chat before leaving to continue exploring the area.
No question about it—we’ll...
Read more1 star for the freshness of the seafood. Service sucks! Especially the woman behind the counter. Teams are using phones even when customers are ready to order. I stood there waiting, and what i get is the face and attitude like I killed their parents! 一副我欠你十八萬. Even when you are ordering, they give the face of impatience and no responses throughout. They should NOT be in the service line. No amount of good food will make me want to come back. I saw they are OK towards local. So probably... , tourists beware!
