Broth Master Minsheng Branch — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

After my first visit at ZhongXiao branch, when friends asked for a steamboat meal, I immediately recommend 雞湯大叔.Friends drove us to this branch as it is nearer to us.

We were kind of worry cos one of friend whose office was there told us it’s always full & need to queue for a long time. Else need to book far in advance. So we really prayed that we can have a table when we arrived. When We reached the restaurant around 230pm on Sunday afternoon, we saw a few seats available. We’re so excited thought that We might have hope to get a table immediately. We went inside the restaurant and asked, and YES! There’re seats at bar counter for us!

The restaurant is not as spacious as the one at ZhongXiao. But their service is as good. After we all settled down, the waiter started to introduce, and then let us try three kinds of soup base for the steamboat. They served three different flavors (vegetables, brandy & saffron)of chicken soup in a shot class(Yes! Just like your tequila shot!). That is so interesting and very thoughtful. We can taste and chose what we like.

I ordered brandy chicken soup base since I have tasted Saffron Chicken Soup last time. As usual, there have pan-fried chicken in the soup, the waiter suggested that We choose other meat. I chose beef. And with the questionnaires that I filled last time, I had a coupon to get a free plate of clam and another cut of beef. I ordered an egg instead of noodle or rice. And there is basket of mixed vegetables come along with this order.

After ordering the meal, we went to the seasoning and the beverage bar to get our steamboats dip and drink. Drinks include iced unsweetened barley tea and lemon melon smoothie. I did not see hot oolong tea at this branch like the other one.

That’s how I mixed my version of Steamboat dip:chopped spring onion, garlic, shredded white radish, fresh cut chilies ,light salt soy sauce, black vinegar & sesame oil. Basically you can mix whatever you like.

When the waiter serve the soup pot, brandy shot is served separately. You can add the brandy into the soup as and when you like it. I took a sip of the soup before adding in Brandy, it’s so nice. After pouring one shot of brandy,oh my,it’s heavenly. And I kept drinking the soup, before I know it, I finished one whole bowl. I have not even start to put in all steamboat ingredients!

We started by putting in cabbage tofu, so that sweetness of vege will release into the soup. Beef was unexpectedly matching in brandy chicken soup. Clams are fresh and added fresh seafood sweetness to the soup as well.

One of our friends ordered Iberian pig, and the meat quality and taste were really good! They loved it. Majority order noodle as their staple and all give good comments for the noodle. Oh yes, they served a small plate of fruits and the end.

At the end of the meal, I paid NTD383 including service charge for this meal. Friends maximum paid around NTD400+. We are full up to our heads! And super satisfied for our experience with 雞湯大叔！ Thanks for making such great soup base and fresh ingredients we really enjoy it.

Recommend to all who love steamboat and those who love...

This place has been on my to-visit list for awhile and I’m so glad I finally went. The service was amazing - despite not having a lot of staff everyone was really friendly, kind and welcoming without being intrusive. The food was also fantastic, every broth was distinctly different but all tasty in their own ways. Being able to sample the broths before ordering was a nice touch, and the server attentively runs us through the menu so it’s easy to understand how to order or what is recommended. The ingredients were very fresh, loved how sweet the vegetables were. There’s a AYCE drinks and condiments counter, and the meal is completed with a free dessert at the end. 雞湯大叔 一週可以吃3上以上！！ 最愛民生店/內湖店 松阪豬超級新鮮！！（不是加工的） 干貝是新鮮的！！ 我是魚獲大師級！！

蛤蜊也超級新鮮又大顆，還會噴水！！ 青花椒醬很好吃😋 食材都非常的新鮮！！ 有時會有大把香菜 沒有火鍋🍲料是優點！！ 想到就會來！！ 還有冬瓜檸檬🍋冰沙超級解膩 雖然有時會太水！！

ここへ行くためだけに水曜日の午後を休むこともよくあります！

I can eat this at least three times a week!!

My favorites are the Minsheng/Neihu branches.

The Matsusaka pork is super fresh!! (Not processed)

The scallops are fresh!!

I'm a master fish catcher!!

The clams are also super fresh and big, and they squirt!!

The green peppercorn sauce is delicious 😋

The ingredients are all very fresh!!

Sometimes there's a generous amount of cilantro.

The lack of hot pot ingredients is a plus!!

I come here whenever I think of it!!

And the winter melon and lemon smoothie 🍋 is super refreshing, though sometimes it's too watery!!

I often take a Wednesday afternoon off just to come here!!

The air conditioning is amazing!!

The manager and staff are so welcoming ❤️
