It’s really amazing. When traveling to Taipei from Hong Kong I’d like to try a haircut as # 1 there could be more options in here and # 2 I haven’t found a suitable barber after my familiar one left. I was proved to made the right decision. I did some research online while I called CoolCat in the last minutes - my bad due to personal reasons - fortunately it was Friday afternoon and I reckon quite a few people went to enjoy the happy hours and I grabbed a barber Henry. As shown in their ads, I sat with my back to the mirror yet Henry trimmed the hair so delicately. An hour later he brought a mirror finally. The cut was smart as I briefed him in a pretty simple way however he captured exactly the points. A surprising, pleasantly, ritual follows. Shaving is included in the programme, which is not the case in Hong Kong. Very old-school by using the soap foam and the straight razor. And a mini head massage afterwards perfected the procedure. A recommendation for all and hope I can...
Read moreStaying in a nearby hotel I needed a haircut and this looked a great place from the reviews. On arrival the barber jumped to immediate attention and all looked perfect. But not so fast! The ‘manager’ appeared and asked if I had an appointment? No I explained. Well ‘we are busy’ he said and added ‘all week’ for good effect. I looked around at the empty chairs and the expectant barber. Are you sure I asked? Oh yes came the reply. I stepped out into the empty street. No customers in sight. Off to the next barber. And to write this review. You might think this is reasonable behaviour and 1 star is harsh. But if it makes you read this and call first and saves you a walk then good! Also never in my experience have I seen a barber shop refuse passing trade. So if you don’t agree this is deserved for poor service at least you might agree it’s deserved for poor...
Read moreI can’t thank my stylist enough (i feel bad i didnt ask her name) —this was probably the best haircut I’ve had in many, many years of rocking a Mohawk.
A mohawk isn’t an easy cut. People often think it is, but it’s actually hard to get the lines sharp and symmetrical. Attention to detail is key, and this stylist went above and beyond. She took her time and put real care into every step.
The service includes hot towels, a shave, hair wash, and styling—all for just 1,000 NT. Great value.
Note: they don’t accept Apple Pay or credit cards, so bring cash. I didn’t have any on me, but they were super accommodating and let my Taiwanese friend transfer the money directly to their account.
Highly recommend this place. If you’re a foreigner, I’d suggest choosing the female stylist (there’s only one) as she speaks perfect English and makes the whole experience...
