Ramen Nagi Dazhi Branch — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

The place is tourist friendly as they have English menus you can order off of. With my little Chinese, the English menu definitely helped me have a better experience with the food as I was able to order more accurately.

This place uses a paper checklist menu that you turn in to order. It's a place that really allows you to customize your ramen from strength in richness of the broth, how you want your noodles cooked, thick or thin noodles, and of course all the different types of toppings. It's a more traditional ramen soup place as opposed to a "dipping" place that seem fairly poplar in Taiwan lately.

I ordered my soup rich with a good amount of garlic and seaweed and an egg as additional toppings. I should've ordered more noodles as I was left wanting more. Although if you added extra noodles they say they can only add the thin style noodle on the menu.

Nagi is an authentic Japanese ramen noodle shop situated in a nice building on a second floor, with 4 different broths to choose from. I tried the original broth with slice pork and added an egg. It was delicious. You get a sheet to customize your flavor of broth, the tenderness of the noodle, green onion or cabbage, spicy levels and other sides you can add to the bowl. Overall the noodle itself was really good, I had it on regular and it was al dente. Too bad Japanese broth was meant for coating the noodle and not good for drinking it. I drank it all anyway because I like soup, but the soup was missing that umami flavor. Perhaps next time I can add that Bonito seasoning to sweeten up the soup then it should be delicious. It came with two jars of pickled bean sprouts and pickled mustard which both were good. I'll give them a try...

Definitely an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. There were four major selections of soup: original, red, black and green king. You can customize your flavor of soup, tenderness of the noodles and spicy level. I ordered original with 3 level of spicy. How awesome it was! Although the broth was a little bit greasy, I still finish it. Love their chili sauce. If you are a spicy lover, you must choose at least 3 level of spicy.
