時時香 RICE BAR - 美麗華店 — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

October 4th 2025, Saturday dinner. Extremely disappointed. Staff were incompetent and failed to communicate with each other, leading to the worst experience I’ve had at a premium restaurant. I do not recommend this restaurant under any circumstances until they can resolve the unprofessional service.

After we were seated we picked a meal package (all of which were very expensive), but the waitress who initially served us disappeared and never returned to confirm our choices. We later found out she never sent our order through… we wasted an hour waiting while absolutely nothing was being prepared.

Only when we voluntarily asked another waiter about the status, they admitted there was no order for our table. Once management realised the error, dishes started arriving fairly quickly — but a number of items were cold and it was obvious some plates had been rushed out (it felt like they served pre-made food to cover their mistake). For a restaurant in this high price range that’s unacceptable.

While we waited, only tap water was offered. No entrees or sides were served as we waited hungry for an hour. Communication was poor throughout — staff didn’t check back, didn’t even apologise, and left us in the dark for far too long. We received no compensation for our terrible experience and time wasted.

Food itself was good, but given the service disaster and the premium prices we paid, the whole experience was extremely underwhelming. For a “high-end” place, the lack of coordination and training shown by the front-of-house team was shameful.

Would I go back? Never again. If you value your time and money, I’d be cautious about visiting the restaurant. Over 6000 NTD for a 6-person meal. We were met with incompetent service and an extremely overpriced dinner....

We ordered about 5 dishes plus the two rices, the Taichung and Quinoa rice. The food in general was really good, but the rice was a little bit dry. But the service was very disappointing. I never saw a restaurant that made the client stand up to service them so many times. The first problem came when one of the dishes we ordered, shrimp, never came. We had to stand up and address the problem directly to the waiters as they would not come to our table even after raising our hands. The service is a little bit lagging behind compared to other restaurants nearby. As foreigners, is already hard to properly communicate with waiters, but when the waiters make you stand up from your table to communicate, is even more troublesome. The environment was fine, except for the fact that waiters would not come to the table even after raising our hands...

A few years back when they first opened at this Miramar location, I was so pleased with their food, service and overall experience, I literally recommended it all my friends who was going to Taipei. But recently, I’ve noticed the quality of the food wasn’t as tasty as it used to be, and the portion of their dishes has sized down.

Today my son asked me if we should give it a try again, and my comments are as follow: the quality of the food remains Mediocre as my last impression, the portion of the 4 dishes we had ordered was still small as last time, but the protein (meat and chicken) of the dishes seemed to be lesser than last time. The service of the staff remains good...
