Toscanini Zhubei Branch — Restaurant in Zhubei City

I went there for a business lunch. After a quick look at the menu, I ordered a Provençal salad, an Italian vegetable soup, and the Choice Steak.

The soup tasted like an instant powdered one, very artificial and disappointing. According to the menu, the salad was supposed to come with island dressing (as shown in the picture), but it was served with sesame sauce instead. When I asked for another dressing, they brought me an Italian-style one that tasted unpleasant, with an overpowering mushroom flavor.

I’m not expecting a gastronomic restaurant, but being unable to serve a simple salad correctly, just adding the right dressing as written on the menu, already shows a lack of care. As for the steak, not being able to choose how it’s cooked is unacceptable. Cooking a steak properly is the very basic of any restaurant, and what I received was completely overcooked, like a piece of rubber.

Not a bad place. Serving sizes are enough to share. Appetizers: Enjoyed the escargot, stay away from the frozen food grade fried moz. Mains: My meal partner had the squid ink risotto which was not bad and had black olives hidden in darkness. I had the Caesar salad, though the sauce was not the taste expected. I found whole capers in my salad, so i'm guessing anchovies were missing from the dressing. Meal set comes with baked bread (nice, though only one roll.), soup (mushroom cream, not bad for premade), dessert (dark chocolate cake) and drink (fresh squeezed OJ is worth it, partner had fruit tea which she said was very apple-ly) Wish they had espresso to match dessert. Instead, I got an italian coffee instead which tasted suspiciously like an americano. Makes me wonder why their machine does not do espresso. Zero queue with many empty seats/tables yet they made us wait for 30 minutes, not sure what the hold up was but didn’t feel they were too eager to flip tables. Food was mediocre and the service was fair. Will not be visiting...
