Café Aroma — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

I did not only have breakfast, but also lunch here, and it was not disappointing at all. The food ánd coffee was great. The juice was fresh. The WiFi worked perfectly and I was there from 8 to 15. If you sit by the wall, there are some sockets available to charge your phone or laptop, but you have to come early because these are the preferred seats for everyone coming there to work. The waiters were nice, and they all seemed to be working hard (compared to all the negative comments I read about them just chatting at the counter). The AC was working (maybe a bit too much, it actually was quite chilly, so take something to cover up if you get cold easily). At first glance, cafe Aroma may seem like a very average cafe, as it sits right next a petrol station. However, from the outside you can see that it is a nice cafe. It looks inviting. The staff greeted me immediately and I found a seat easily/quickly. I asked if they could mix two juices for me and they obliged without a problem. I ordered a Greek salad with added chicken, and we got some fries for the table. The fries were great! A light crispiness on the outside accompanied by a soft inside. The salad was already seasoned well enough that I didn’t need to add the dressing they provided.

Overall I recommend this place for an easy cafe to have a meeting, catch up with a friend, have a lunch with family, or entertain your kids with a meal out. They had desserts too, but I did not venture...

Very Conceited Waiters. Super Racist Poor service

I arrived and sat down at this cafe and it took about 15 min before anyone came and spoke to me. This was not during rush hours around 11am.

I asked for a soda with ice cubes and the waiter took my order and didn’t come back. I waited for about half an hour and looked up from my laptop, ( very bad wifi btw speed was less than 1MBPS) and he was serving drinks to a table with Chinese and white customers who came in after me.

If this isn’t RACIST....

I caught the waiter’s eye and he proceeded to arrange menus on the counter where three others servers were chatting idly.
