Palm Beach Hotel — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

We have stayed here for some years now. We use the palm beach for getting off flights.||The rooms are fine. C-plus let us say. Some are deluxe and some a weeny bit boxlike. When the rooms are good, they smoke all of the 5 star establishments in town. When they are sort of boxlike. ||||The good thing about this place is that the receptionist is awake and friendly at 0400. That is a bonus. They know about you, you are in , asleep right away-.||||The restaurant and bar is open 24 hours a day, and that is excellent. Their staff are also excellent and I have no problem with their service, it is first rate and fast.||||The only negative thing about the Palm beach is that overall, its a just a bit average for $120-140 a night. There is nothing special about it. The breakfasts are OK. The aircon does not always work, and changing rooms was a bit slow, the staff are a little bit slow, or don't care. It's a really nice African hotel with the African sense of urgency,||||It is fine for me, I just make sure I have a good room, and I am nice to the managers and firm with the morning staff. First of all, the hotel is really quite cheap by Dar-Es-Salaam standards. 110 USD per night. Secondly, it is a bit queerly built, the rooms are all of different sizes and the name of the hotel is somewhat misleading. The beach is near, but the hotel is across a busy road from the beach. ||Overall, the first inpression is poorish, but the good sides of the hotel are all there: the rooms (the ones, you should ask for) are quite spacious and clean, shower is okay, free Wi-Fi is available, the food menu is not very big, but quite well cooked - I especially liked the soups. The small outside tented restaurant area is quieter than it could be expected to be what with the busy road right next to it.||||Restaurant-wise: you have to be ready for the salads to miss some of the components, but the waiters come to warn you about this and to discuss alteernatives.||||What else? Oh, the USD exchange rate is good, and comparing with the exchange rate in Holiday Inn for example - is simply superb.||||To sum up, a good budget place to stay in Dar, if you don't mind it's somewhat...

I love having bbq and Chinese food in the restaurant. Always a fan of the meal E23 silk noodle with beef and the bbq (chicken, chicken wings and beef)

Amazing service you feel the staffs are very polite and they are friendly.

For fired silk noodle with beef is a traditional Chinese meal originally from Sichuan, China. It’s a spicy meal. Another amazing noodle is Beef Fen (soup noodle).

There’s also cute tiny street cats around the restaurant which staff usually being very kind to the cats they allow the cats asking food from clients. I appreciate this.

For drinks I love their fresh juice especially the tropical mix juice. Usually I will order food before I arrive as it will take at least 15-20 mins to get fresh and hot Chinese food ready.

Environment is clean and spacious, with nice green plants around. Good location just next to the main road with number of parking area as they are running of casino next door.
