I have eaten at the Union cafe more than two times and have to say that was the best experience.

The Pizza salsa served with union, Green paper, chilli and tomato, preparation was memorable in taste and the chicken was sooo good When you venture into menu items the execution and service is very spotty. On another occasion I waited for 35 minutes for a pizza that was burnt but If time is of no essence, then the service will suit as it is a relaxed pace, but why would you want to rushed in a place like this! The Pizza salsa preparation was memorable in taste and the chicken was soooo… good

There are enough power sockets for laptop users... Probably this is the best place in Moshi town to mix work and leisure at.

The bathrooms are also spotless and always have soap and toilet paper, which is a good sign that the kitchen has good standards.

Last thanks to my waiter Frank for everything

Make sure you include a meal at this great place whilst...

The Most Beautiful Café in Moshi

This is one of the few old buildings in the town center that is well-maintained, which alone is worth an extra point. The interior is also interesting: you can see photos of people who made history as part of the country's first cooperative union — the KNCU farmers' coffee union, which owns the building.

Coffee is roasted right here, and the aroma is incredible! Step inside and take a look at the coffee roasting machine. Coffee Union Cafe serves delicious coffee, prepared with skill.

The food here is mediocre but acceptable. My favorite dish is the tuna sandwich. There is a selection of desserts (although all are overly sweet, so be careful).

You can sit on the veranda or inside. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is paid and expensive — I was offered one hour for 1000 shillings.

This is a popular spot among tourists. It is definitely...

I'm writing this review right from the Coffee Union Cafe. I couldn't wait with it because I was super upset with the quality of the place. We ordered 2 Mango/Pineapple juices with our food. And when we got it we knew there is something wrong with it. It was slimy, and didn't taste like normal juice at all. So we asked the waiter about it and it turned out the juice was made the day before in the morning - so around 30+ hours prior our order (we visited the place around 3pm)! Only this would make me leave 1 star review. Also, I think you should know that wifi is not free and meals are pretty expensive (around 9-10$ for a burger and 8-10$ for a sandwich). So it's not a place for getting food or wifi for those who travel on a budget. I believe they have decent coffee, but I haven't ordered it. Anyways, be careful what...

Union Cafe is a landmark cafe that has been around since 1939. It has a rich history and seems to be run by the oldest smallholder coffee farmers' Union in Tanzania. We dropped by to have a coffee on Christmas Day 2022 and it was (thankfully) open. We had the filter coffee and a chocolate mousse cake. The coffee was quite good, albeit a little stronger than I'd have thought. The French press was made of steel - so we couldn't see how well it filtered (and as expected, we had quite a lot of coffee powder remains in our coffee). The cake was quite nice and soft (although a little too sweet for me). It's a nice place overall.

The food is not good, prices are high, WiFi is paid (!!!), staff is okay, place is full of tourists (this is true mzungu place in Moshi), but the building has its historical atmosphere which I enjoyed as the only thing. Pizza is horrible (if you come to eat pizza to Tanzania better go to Lushoto's Mamma mMia) made from frozen ready-to-bake dough, quesadillas are made from strange dough, not even close they should be, guacamole taste was below average. It has been long time I have seen paid WiFi in a place like this. So sad. Maybe for coffee it is good place to stop (we have not tried) but for food, I do not recommend it.
